Sofirn LT1S (shorty LT1 with 2700k/6500k/red?)

I would prefer the 2700-5000K range. I don’t see the need to waste efficiency on 6500K.

Just had a link to this light posted by a guy on another forum. Totally not bothered about the simplified non-Anduril UI. Very much liking the stable form factor, and seriously hoping the deep red leds are in the 570 nm range as was the AAA CR01 keychain light.

I see they’re claiming the deep red to be beneficial to the eyes:

“Deep Red light: to help improve declining eyesight, scientists have said. A study by University College London, involving a small sample size of 24 people, has shown that staring at long wavelength light for three minutes every day can ”significantly improve vision” in those aged 40 and above.”

Got one ordered, as you do.

AFAIK LED’s with higher color-temps are generally more efficient than warmer colors :innocent:

It says on the aliexpress listing that this has the candlelight, lightning storm etc blinking/flashing modes, but I don’t see those referenced anywhere else. Can anyone confirm whether this model has them or not?

I never bothered with the regular LT1 as I found the design way too bulky.
This one is way more interesting with integrated battery along the center.

We need more details on LED type, CRI, and if the light output is regulated or not.

CRI = 90

I ordered this lantern immediately upon learning of its availability, and received confirmation that it was shipped out (from Sofirn’s AliExpress store) on 12/3.

Today I received an update that the shipment was canceled by the seller (but no further explanation or order cancelation notice).

Anyone have any experience with this? I’ve bought dozens of flashlights from them and never had this issue.

How can a shipment be canceled more than a week after it’s shipped?

Where did you see CRI 90?

Update: AliExpress let me know it’s still on its way, they’re just sending it through Russia so I’ll get new tracking number. Hopefully this is useful information for someone out there.

As far as the high cri claim, sofirn indicated the leds are 90 cri in the comments tol their Facebook post.

That’s great news, thanks!

Sofirn gave some additional information in this thread.

I don’t know why they don’t add more details to the product listing on their website.

Finally a real camp lantern. It’s more like the Fenix CL30R than the LT1 in form design.

Very cool, and they even use a Buck Driver which should mean better efficiency.
Does anybody know what CSP1919 LED is? Is that a Samsung CPS 1.9mm x 1.9mm LED?

Anyone heard any news on these shipping or gotten one in hand yet?

No I ordered two. One from AE and one from their website.

Contacted the company via email and they believe that it does not have candle-light etc modes. Too bad, it would have made an excellent safety light for walking along roads at night.

Edit - They sent me another email saying they would “have to wait until samples arrived” before they corrected the aliexpress listing saying it has flashing modes. That seems to suggest that they actually don’t know either.

Either way, it’s not bright enough to be a primary-camp lantern unless you are solo or perhaps duo camping. Energizer makes brighter, cheaper camping lanterns. It would be ok as an individual lantern for boring people who don’t use flashing modes.

I won’t be buying one unless they make it with anduril.

I received a shipping notification from Sofirn … both of my two ordered lanterns have been shipped.

Any discount codes from Sofirn for the LT1S?

Found H7XBL8UY at check out…

Even with discount and “free” CH Post shipping approx $40 is not inexpensive…

Thinking I’ll wait for someone to actually get one in hand, and other color offering besides black

code updated $4 off --WEEU1YL2IH8Q

I’ve got a couple of these now, really like them for stability. Comparisons with the BLF LT aren’t really appropriate. It does warm/cool very easily in either ramp or step mode, doesn’t run Anduril so don’t expect any candle mode or lightning storm stuff. It does the usual signal and SOS flash.

A nice touch is being able to shut off the LEDs on one side of the lantern so the light in your face is dimmed but still projects outwards.

The red modes don’t ramp, and run at lo/med/hi, plus flashing modes. Left red on low all night and the 21700 had depleted by only a quarter. All in all, I’m really pleased with them and bought a second on the strength of the first.
