SF KX1 head single output?

I have a basically new E1L with the KX1 head. It appears to be a single output light. Yes, it says K-X-1, not KL1 or something else. The serial number is about A25000.

I also have an e2l/kx2 that I can very easily switch between modes. What gives?

KX1 is supposed to be 45/3 Lumens.

Lots of knock-offs of E series Surefire stuff out there

With all of the markings and serial numbers? I kind of doubt it.

I’ve started to think that the KX1 head is broke or something is shorted.

Figure this: I put the head from an E1B Backup with a two stage switch onto the E1L body and tail. It works like a two mode clicky, first high, then low. So maybe they use the same head for the two stage and clicky models? Unlike the E1L, there’s no limit to how fast I can switch the modes.

An example^

Knock offs have authentic looking markings and packaging, contact Surefire if you want to be sure.

Your link isn’t working, but I’m pretty sure its a rifle light. They tend to rip off stuff for airsoft or what people are currently buying, not 20 year old surefires.
