I hope they obtained permission from Leonard Cohen’s publisher to butcher his song for their purpose. He understandably didn’t write Christmas songs.

Hallelujah was written and recorded before 1984,
and Leonard Cohen was scammed into selling his song catalogue
(to Sony, IIRC) in 2001. So his estate has no rights to the song.

Anyone who’s a fan of rock in the slightest should check out Nothing More. This one is off their album “Stories That We Tell Ourselves.” Their self-titled album is also amazing.
I guess maybe I have a weird sense of humor but this rendition of Carol of the Bells cracks me up.
