The Knog Bandicoot 250 is a ultra lightweight headlamp of a unique design with a USB rechargeable headlamp module that fits inside a silicone headband.
By default is has 5 light modes, and the mode groups, mode order, brightness levels, and step-down can be customized in the Knog ModeMaker app.

We’ve been waiting for a light that has a USB interface to a software app.
And now there is one.
Shame about the non-replaceable battery (maybe there is a way inside?).
But the PWM is a deal killer for me. I just can’t abide a light with visible PWM.
Especially in a headlamp that’s likely to be used for closeup use and walking/running.
Moving objects or glancing about with PWM will give me a splitting headache in no time.

Yes, the app is very useful and also works for their flashlights and bikelights. For example if my kids go on a scout camp for a weekend, I can set the modes so that I know it will last all weekend.
The PWM is some of the worst I’ve tested in recent years though - real shame, as otherwise it is a very impressive ultralight headlamp.
Is it adjustable just with an app?
Concern is what happens should the app just disappear. (Ask everyone who bought a Gnarbox…)
You control the default modes with 2 buttons on the top of the headlamp. The app allows the user to change the modes, mode order, mode brightness and step down, then upload those settings to the headlamp. So you don’t need to use the app, but the app adds a lot of flexibility.
