Bort:
I had that happen on an old computer, took a long time to figure out it was the RAM because it was very intermittent. I tell you being down to 32MB (yes MB) of RAM was no fun even way back when.
So you have my sympathies
It took me a while to figure it out for me too.
My desktop computer would give me Blue Screens of Death every day or two.
I tried lots of fixes, and even tested RAM while running Windows, but I was told by Windows that my RAM was fine.
So far, Memtest86+ has done at least two passes, and has found lots of errors.
I won’t know how bad it is though until I stop Memtest86+’s test, and I’m not going to do that until I get up tomorrow.
Speaking of which, it’s almost my bedtime.
If i remember correctly it was a process of elimination for me but windows would BSOD spontaneously in those days anyways so that made it harder to track down.
I had an HP hand me down blow a ram chip but i forget how but i figured it out quickly.
My main rig uses a good brand of RAM so no failures in the last 8 years on it, fingers crossed.
But Windows 8.1 is dead in 2023 so i will need a new computer then.
My desktop is overclocked, so I have to use very good RAM.
I've had it almost twelve years, though I did add more RAM to it about two years ago.
I won't know which RAM sticks are bad until tomorrow.
You don't like Windows 10?
It's very similar to 8.1
And W11 is very similar to W10.

No overclocking on my end.
Windows 11 on a 10 year old (by 2023) computer is not going to run very smoothly.
That said no previous computer of mine has lasted this long.
Depends on the computer's components.
My gaming desktop will be twelve or thirteen years old next year, and I'm sure that it'll run W11 just fine.
There is a workaround to install W11 on old computers, though I don't think I'll be able to get updates.

I have a i7 4770K, 16GB Ram and so forth. Top of the line at the time.
Its fine for now but i am noticing some slowdown running modern software.
I prefer simple and updated so i plan to upgrade the computer once the updates for Win 8.1 run out.

Thanks! Did it just work for you, or did you clear your browser cache? And which browser?

Advance Post Editor is working fine. This is one of the few sites that go well with my FF.

The Advanced Post Editor didn't work for me on Chrome either.
How I fixed it:
Right click anywhere on the page, click on Inspect
(If you don't see that then click the 3 dots in the very top right of Chrome and go to More tools
, Developer tools
)
Go to the Network
tab
Check Disable cache
Reload the page
Go to the Advanced Post Editor and check it works
Un-check Disable cache
and close the web inspector

Test test test
Advance editor seems to work in Chrome for me.
This is off-topic, but luckily that's usually not a problem around here.
I didn't like the UI of Memtest86+, so I used MemTest64.
I know that Memtest86 and Memtest86+ are better programs, but I got good results from MemTest64.
My problem is with one stick of RAM, but I'm not sure which one.
I'll have to remove one or two sticks of RAM (out of 4) at a time and re-run MemTest64 to narrow it down.

My advanced post editor is working now. Have to wait for couple of minutes to come into effect after clearing my browser cache.

...and the mystery is solved!
I had 2GB + 2GB + 4GB + 4GB of RAM.
One of the 4GB is bad (and I know which one).
That surprised me because that RAM is way newer.
It has excellent feedback on Amazon, too.
...
So, now all I have to do is buy and install more RAM, which is no big deal.
I can get away with only 8GB, like I am right now, but I'd rather have 12GB.
EDIT:
Hmm...
The RAM that went bad has a lifetime warranty.
I think I'll be contacting Kingston to get my RAM replaced.

My first question is always warranty so glad you got that covered :+1:

I just ordered a ten pack of antistatic bags.
(I only need one right now, but I might need some more later, and they're cheap.)
Once I receive them, I'll see if Kingston will honor their warranty.

Actually I appreciate you keeping this thread going to keep it visible, just in case there are other users with an old cached version of the Advanced Post Editor that think it’s not possible to post.
