oh
good experiment
that would be google though, right?
maybe the site isn;t telling google its contents any more…
( i think the site search is a re-labeled google search anyway)

It would appear that the Threads in the Keychain / “Button” Battery Flashlights topic aren’t being indexed by the search Engine.
Could the quotes (“”) have something to do with that? Inquiring minds want to know.
Never mind, it seems several other threads also don’t show, hmmm.
Yes, it is, but the two different searches usually bring up different results.
also, i realize now i first noticed this 4-5 days ago
if this helps anyone to think what happened

also if you search for something common, like LED, and sort by date, it say 01/04/22 is the latest result
that can;t be right!
The posts do appear though if one uses duckduckgo. Using this criteria cyansky wle budgetlightforum I get a hit.
now THAT is unexpected!
i figured ddg would be way slower to get and index results like that

I’ve been testing DDG on a Linux VM and it doesn’t seem any slower than Google. I’m liking it enough to switch over to it on all my machines. The good thing about search engines is that it only takes a minute or so to switch from one to another.

oh - i meant i was surprised that DDG would be indexing them correctly, before google did it
maybe the trouble is, google isn;t crawling budgetlightforum.com any more, to store the results
but DDG is

still broken today
still not working
i think it is working now - did someone do something to make it start again
“?
There’s really nothing to do, it’s just how Google’s (and other search providers) web crawlers work.
so i think you are saying, it takes a few days for stuff to get into the search data base… ?

Given all the web pages out there it probably takes time for the crawlers to get to pages like BLF which don’t get many hits. That’s just my opinion of course and hopefully not totally off-base.
type in google, search: budgetlightforum.com Cyansky
Both are are 1st and 2nd listing, and this “search not working” thread is 3rd

Never knew it stopped working. I search blf often using google “search:” Was working day before yesterday when I searched for old Q8 content.
i think what i noticed was , something that was less than a week old, it could not find

Probably took the crawler a few more days than normal.
