Can anyone even tell high/low CRI when just reading?
I use that LITOM horseshoe-shaped around-the-neck reading light. Super WW is almost amber, like 2200K, but it’s phosphor-converted, so you can still see red through blue.
That was my top choice for a while because of the beaded TIR, floodiness, etc but it seems that a lot of people had build issues with it. Not sure if that was a thing of the past. Thoughts? Since I fell down the rabbit hole I ended up with, almost exclusively, Convoys and [as Eek-A-Mouse sang] I like them all.
I think the HS05 is a perfectly fine choice!
If you’re not able to find a TIR that fits, you can try applying a window security film (like DC-fix) or Scotch tape to the lens.
It’ll diffuse the hotspot, and you could apply multiple layers for greater effect.
There will naturally be some output losses - but depending on your use case that may actually be desirable.
Hi, I may answer why there are two listings :D. One ships from USA, the other ships from China. The title can tell the difference.
Now 2700K HS05 is out of stock
You have to know size of HS05 reflector and their room.
Be carefull if you want try unscrew the silver ring holder to avoid scratchs
For my SP40 I used a tool for open watch back case that I already had
Convoy have 17mm Tir lens, but now store is closed.
Can’t guarantee they will fit or it may be necessary to file them to reduce the depth
Cute little light in 2700K and the moonlight mode surprisingly usable although the low mode probably more useful for reading.
It’s reasonably floody and suspect that had there been an OP option it may have sufficed. Having said that, would have preferred a ‘beaded’ TIR regardless and it’d have been perfect for me.
I have a “Warm White” Armytek Wizard Pro with the XHP50 that is very nice for, well, everything so far. It seems to be becoming obsolete by my Nichia version, but the XHP50 is definitely warmer. Nowhere near 2700k like the little Sofirn, but a much lower moonlight none the less.
The Cyansky looks gorgeous. Bit on the grounds-for-divorce expensive side for me but I’ll probably explore a ‘higher end’ had lamp next time I go on holiday. Maybe over the next 10 to 20 years if I’m lucky.
