Battery organizer

Does anyone make an organizer for lithium batteries?

These actually work for 18650 and 21700. Not sure about 26650.

Make sure to get one that is plastic, not sure about the one I linked.

Yep, that one is plastic.

Bulk Jot Plastic Pencil Cases, 7.5x2.875x1 in. | Dollar Tree

they hold about a dozen 18650's

I got a bunch of padded cases from Crutchfield. 18650s in those 4-cell holders, 14500s similarly, etc., and they all seem to tetris into those cases verrrrry nicely.

18650s on one, 14500s (Li and NiMH) in another, generic spillover (18650s with built-in charging, 26650s, 16340s, 18350s, etc.) in another.

I only keep cells in those lights I have in at least semi-active rotation, and never ever ever “store” cells in lights.

My favorite system is from Storacell.

Those must be some fancy battery carriers. Can you link an example of exactly what you use? I was going to go with some small Pelican cases, but I’m open to alternatives.

Naw, I looked. They were Lowepro padded cases, burgundy-colored, like for gps thingies, all-in-one cameras/videocams, that kind of thing. Goggled “camera cases’ but only got the big donks the size of small backpacks.

These were ~20bux regular price, discontinued at 7bux each if new, 5bux if “opened”, so I stocked up, if you know what I mean. They’re great for multimeters, chargers, and in this case, batteries.

Looked up my old order, it’s a Lowepro Edit 130, ’though they call it “bordeaux red”, not burgundy. Oh, well.

What bugs me about “storage organisers” and the like, is that there’s often so much deadspace inside. Square grids where you stick cells into, dividers, etc., that just waste too much space. With those snap-boxes, you can organise ’em by chemistry (eg, Li vs NiMH), by type (30Qs, VTC5s, panny-Bs, etc.), by brand/wrap (Nitecore, Sofirn, etc.), and so on. Then, you just organise the boxes.

Need to rearrange them, or add/take cells? You do it by the snap-box, and don’t have a loose pile of cells falling over and getting disorganised.

The boxes stacked nicely in the cases I have, and being that they’re soft and padded, have some “flex” as far as wedging them in nicely so they don’t fall over. And if you need 4 cells for a light, you can put back the empty box as a placeholder, vs having the cells shake around and get disorganised by Brownian motion inside the case.

I think this shiite through…

Oh ok, too big for my needs but thank you.

I’m going to try one of these Pelican micro cases.

If the posted dimensions are correct, they will fit my flat top 18650s, 21700s, & 26650s, although I would measure to make sure before ordering, especially for button tops.

The case interior is (L×W×D) 4.37 x 2.87 x 1.68 in / 11.1 x 7.3 x 4.3 cm.

For reference, flat-top 21700 molicels are 2.756 x 0.843 inches.

You could get a 3d printer? These are some I have printed over the last few days, the red ones hold a single cell the idea is i can throw them into a bag or something and they dont get damaged or short out in there. The crates well you get the idea.

Sounds like something that could be sold on etsy, if anyone with a 3D printer were so inclined.

Thanks for the great ideas.
