Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Is that a good price for the calipers?

For metal, digital readout calipers, it looks great. Plus, good reviews.

Thanks. I ordered one.

I received these today.

They expire in October 2022, as advertised.

I haven't tried them yet, but I have gotten these before in slightly larger bottles.

Kkewl. I should be getting mine tomorrow, B’harni willing.

This is new (to me).

Amazon emailed me and told me that my package with the fish oil was delivered.

But they also included a photo of our front porch with the package!

In the top left area, you can see our garage, and my room takes up half of the garage.

I get a “delivery photo” every time. Can’t recall exactly when it started, but it’s been the better part of a year or so. CYA move for Amazon.

Yeh, when it’s delivered by an Amavan, they do that. (Tracking number “TBA123456”, etc.)

Even keweler, it you know it’s “out for delivery”, and can catch it just before, you (if done in your area) can also see a map and doodad to mark where the Amavan is. If lots of deliveries in your area, also a blurb like “3 stops before you” or however it’s worded.

I first get a message when the driver is “10 stops away.” The map shows the van as a blue dot and updates as it gets closer.

It used to say, “You’re next,” but at some point they reworded it to a less ominous, “You’re the next stop.”

During the holiday season the dot changes to Santa’s sleigh.

I’ve gotten pictures of delivered packages for several years.

Yeh, kinda like VLC’s candy-corn wearing a Sanny-Claus hat during the Christmas season. Cute.

New Amazon delivery message:

Reminds me of a horror movie that I saw, You're Next (2011).

I got that one, but haven’t watched it yet. :person_facepalming:

A few weeks ago I was watching the blip, went to my door after the package was delivered and found an empty bubble mailer, you can even see the bubble mailer looks flat in the photo the delivery guy took.

Was supposed to be a civivi knife but I got an empty package, I cant understand how a driver leaves an obviously empty bubble mailer and just goes back to his route. I reported it an got a credit but this was after the civivi sale was over so I cant get a replacemnet at that price unless I pay the higher price then contact them after new one arrives(if it does)to try and explain this mess for a credit.

To me they should have just sent a new one it was stolen amongst their chain of employees not by a porch pirate.

I ordered a Q8 reflector from Sofirn and it spent a looooooooong time in transit. I eventually got an bubble-envelope that was clearly empty, too, ripped on the reverse side and not even carefully sliced or anything. Someone must’ve felt something round and heavy, maybe thought it was a medallion or coins or something, and grabbed it.

By pure sheer stoopit luck, I just happened to be near the door when I heard the beep-beep-beep when the mailman would zap the package upon delivery, so I saw it immediately and chased down the mailman to show him. He asked, “Oh, it’s empty?”, like… duh? So he rebeeped it as refused, and that was the only way I got a resend. Otherwise, it’d just be, “Hey, we’re showing that it’s been delivered”, and I’d be SOL. In fact, my first round of email was exactly that, ’til the “delivery exception” status showed up, and I included the usps.com link for it.

That’s why to this day, if I know something’s out for delivery, I try to make sure I can catch the mailman when he delivers, or the Amavan as it arrives. Problem is that sometimes I get snailmail at 10-11, other times it’s come as late as 15-16, depending who delivers it.

It’s Amazing though—- I’ll be home and know a package is coming —be up front in the office most of the day — As soon as I go to the back for something — Walla Delivered

Nothing worse than getting a Good Deal on something —only for it to be taken away in Transit

I’ve received an empty envelope Amazon delivery before. The best surprise, though, from Amazon was the email I received from them last year saying they wanted me to contact their customer service team due to the number of returned items that year. They asked for a response to their email message. So, I looked up all my orders so far that year, and I made a chart showing each returned item and the reason for the return in each case. The returns were only a small percentage of my purchases.

In all cases, the returns were due to products arriving damaged, or products that were not as described on the Amazon website. I wrote a conclusion saying that, if they wanted me to return fewer items, they needed to find a way to pack the items in a manner so that they aren’t easily damaged in shipping, and also prohibit sleazy sellers from using their website to sell products with inaccurate product descriptions. They wanted my feedback, so I gave it to them.

Like most Surveys — They don’t want Negative feedback — they only want the Pat On The Back
Every time we give negative reviews or complaints to any company, restaurant, etc —- We never hear back — I would imagine it’s much worse now a days

I know one thing — when a package is late or lost — I let Amazon have it — most of the time I get a gift card of some value —- I bought this big Outdoor Cabinet 4 times from Amazon and once from Office Depot — It got lost first time ($30 gift card ) —lost second and third time ($100 gift card ) —Office Depot ( I’m sorry your refund will be on your card in 5-10 days — screw them ) — I was determined as long as Amazon would keep selling it — I would either keep piling up gift cards or get the dang cabinet— 5th time it finally showed up

Amazon actually banned me from doing reviews a few weeks ago

I don’t leave 5 star reviews on everything, and I actually attempt to help future costumers with their purchase decision…

I don’t try silly jokes and sexy pictures, so I’m not a popular reviewer! lol…

I guess they just don’t want objective viewpoints about their products. In fact most of the reviews I did were only to counter “Vine Reviews of Free Products” that were glowing 5 star reviews of always “MEH” products!

Anyway, saves me some time and energy.

I suggest not reviewing any items you buy with coupons, as I suspect that is what got me flagged. That is, if you care about reviewing to begin with. I suspect not many do, considering how many “vine reviews” that I’ve seen forced upon the masses…

Rofis MR50 — the crazy part is I have a MR30 (came with XHP35 HD) I modded it to a 4000K 50.2 12v — It’s one of my favorite to grab lights for out in the yard —hoping this light is close to the same or better
