$5 Thrunite Ti

Mmm… thought about that, I could tell them but since they don’t write it anywhere I am not so sure if they’ll remember about it.

I think this is probably one of the worst marketing mistakes ever for a torch company. Think about it!

If I was planing a deal like this I would have come on here and CPF and made the offer to enthusiasts, rather than going on slickdeals and facebook. What has happened is a load of people, most of which are possibly not even interested in torches or LEDS, have ended up picking up multiples of these lights, a lot of them will probably end up on ebay, or in a draw at home, unused. But more importantly they probably won’t encourage repeat purchasing.

If they had offered them to us, we more than likely would have bought more Thrunite lights thus giving them reviews and ‘airtime’ on here. Instead they have got a lot us us talking about them in the wrong way. They couldn’t even reply to the email sent from a member here, asking to extend the deal for us guys. Which makes me think about the after sales if you had a problem.

Not good really. :open_mouth:

I agree, very true.

My post office often hold my mails/packages for me. I write a short note for the post’s staff with my name + duration of absence. They stick my note on a wall in their depot. So they won’t forget.

Here in Greece it is questionable if they will remember. Nevermind that August is a “dead” month, all public sector is almost closed, and everybody is away on holidays…

Well if you want to get out of the deal. I will take it off your hands. :p

That’s possible also as I said, if they ever bother to reply to me…

Spoke with a representative from ThruNite today, she was very helpful, told her to join the forum so maybe we will be seeing her here as a ThruNite representative, and get direct support and offers. 8)

For the Facebook-challenged, ThruNite posted this update on the Ti lights today:

If anyone gets a pink Ti & doesn’t want it I’ll buy it. My wife wants one also.

Trying to buy at the new price but getting this error when adding to cart:

Anyone else?

What does it matter if someone gave them the wrong phone number? What do they do, call first? Also, I agree that this was a mistake as far as marketing. They offer a great deal and then take it back because too many people jumped on it. Then they don’t ship in a timely manner and are slow to respond to emails.

For many, this was the first experience with this company and it is not looking like a place you would want to spend more money at. The idea is give them a taste of your product and hope they come back and buy more items at full price. Right now, I wouldn’t pay full price for their product because, slow shipping, lack of CS and inconsistant message from seller.

They are processing all orders after the deal ends.

Yeah, but don’t forget that in first 24 hours, almost 1000 Ti were sold. Man, I don’t know how much people are in their group, but dunno they have enough to process all those orders in even one week :open_mouth:

I’ll cut them some slack for two reasons. First, it was a great deal and I’m willing to wait for a good deal. Second, they sold out of the initial allotment in hours, and then chose to expand it substantially. I got my order in during that second wave, so if they had just held it to something manageable, I would have been too late. They chose to expand it to something unmanageable to include more people.

Luckily I have a couple of other lights I can use until this one comes in ...

You’ve completely missed the point here, this is about product awareness, why promote your brand to people who are already aware you exist, if the company was smart about marketing enthusiast would be the last people to include.

The whole idea is to promote your brand to a new market to expand brand awarness, there is little value in speding money on an existing market.

Yeah, the way they did it really doesn’t make a lot of sense. I’m not complaining. I got one of the $5 ones to add to the $16 one that I already have.

They should have done this when they first introduced the TI to help promote a new light as well as their company in general. This isn’t going to expand their customer base really.

If they want to reach the more general market they can’t really do that from China. It needs to be (for the U.S.) from their U.S. dealers. I didn’t even order my first TI from China.

However, it is worthwhile to provide deals to enthusiasts but it would help them more to do it in such a way that it helps introduce new product to enthusiasts.

I give them credit for actually providing a great light at a very discounted price with no unnecessary gimmicks involved (think DD $8 light).

Glad to hear they responded to your emails Taz

iappologize for suggesting that you ought to just .."get over it " or that you should let them hold your mail or have someone else pick up your mail .

I'm sure it made no sense to some people that they might forget to hold your mail /or send the light back ...But considering your circumstances and the general condition of Greece ...Not trusting the post office makes much more sense .i understand your frustrations and also cannot even begin to imagine some of what's going on in your country ..Again I appologize for assuming things are the same worldwide when it's obvious it isn't .

I assume you found Thrunite an intelligent well run company that cares and understands your concerns and is willing to do whatever it can to facilitate you recieving your light .
