Need a new "WOW" multi-emitter flashlight

Hey gang! I’ve been away from the flashlight scene for quite a while. Got a new job, my wife and I had a baby… life has been busy!

I’m wanting a new “WOW” flashlight after buying the Lumintop FW21 Pro 3x XHP50.2 a year or 2 ago. Looking for something along these lines:

  • 3 or 4 mutli-emitter - XHP50.2 or XHP70.2 (unless there are newer emitters you would recommend)
  • 50/50 thrower/flooder - the FW21 Pro is great, but I’m looking for something with a bit more throw
  • Prefer a larger C8 forum (not much of a fan of the soup can design)
  • +10,000 lumens (I love a good hot rod)
  • Anduril UI is preferred
  • Don’t care much about onboard charging - makes no difference to me
  • Under $100 USD

I really like the look and performance of the ASTROLUX FT02S 4*XHP50.2.
Do you guys have any other recommendations on “holy crap that’s impressive!”
Thank you! :sunglasses:

You don’t need multiple emitters. The Mateminco (the same brand as Astrolux) PD90S with a single SFH55 emitter puts out 10k lumens, has a lot of throw (900m) and flood. It basically satisfies all your requirements except the multi-emitter point. I think it’s one of longest throw 10k+ lumen lights.

The PD90S will definitely outthrow the FT02S which is only 500m.

The DM1.12 can be considered but it’s more than $100 and will not put out 10k lumens.

Even just filtering by only 2 of your criteria (lumens and price) leaves you with only one option, the Sofirn Q8 Pro (and it’s a soup can): Parametrek Flashlights (though this site doesn’t seem to list your Astrolux model, not sure if any other notable ones are missing).

I’d loosen up your constraints a bit and play around with those filters, or get used to that form factor since the Q8 Pro is a great light that checks most of your other boxes.

1 emitter and 1 26650, I’m guesssing that 10k lumens probably lasts about 30 seconds?

I really like that PD90S. I’m not familiar with that SFH55 emitter, but the specs on it look great! And it’ll definitely have more throw with a single emitter and a wide reflector. Awesome find!

Really cool website for comparisons! It looks like Astrolux isn’t loaded in the comparison tool, unfortunately. That Q8 Pro checks a lot of the boxes; I didn’t even realize there are flashlights out now that can be used as power banks! I still have 2, original Q8’s I use in case the power goes out. I think I may get a Q8 Pro just for its utilitarian use. I need to figure out something to do with my old Q8’s since they’re obviously obsolete now!

Definitely a draw-back on these lights. I was kind of hoping for a 2x2170 battery configuration.

The SFH55 in the ft03s doesn’t do 10k Lumens. On a 30T it might do 8000 before a deep stepdpwn at 25 seconds or so. Ot will reliably sustain about 500 Lumens if your hands can take the heat. For sustained output and still a wow factor, look for a Nightwatch NI03 with the SFN55.2. I tested that and it’s pretty special. Or just a Sofirn Q8 Pro. The other option is (if you’re not on a budget) the Thrunite TN50.

And what about the NI03 with sbt90.2

That one is nice also, but it’s more for throw than output. The SFN55.2 is around 7850 Lumens vs the Sbt around 5000. The Sbt90.2 is doing about 400 m more throw than the SFN55.2 which I measured it at about 800 m throw. Not bad. It is definitely a wow light. Only the WT90 is more of a wow light.

Wait, you want a C8 form factor? That’s certainly not going to be easy at all unless you go with an extremely power dense cell.

Just send the FW21 Pro to Vinh and have him swap in some sbt90.2 leds.

ASTROLUX FT02S 4*XHP50.2 is probably it. If wanting a little less throw for a smaller head Astrolux EA01S 4*XHP50.2.

I meant it more as I’d like something that looks like a regular flashlight, rather than a soup can  But the Q8 Pro is kind of growing on me…

Its probably my favorite flashlight right now… but man it gets warm quick. I couldn’t imagine 3 SBT90’s in there!

This might scratch your itch!

If Sofirn Q8 pro is growing on you, then Astrolux EC06 is almost same but more.
