Monster light Trustfire x100

Got mine too, I am posting through mobile, will later post on my PC,took a lot of pictures.it is amazing, measured 3240 otf with 4 cells and 3370 with 3 cells, though it was declining, have to make runtine graph.lux with 4cells is 37900. Have a lot more measurements will post all of them later!

BEAST MODE!!

I read 3,65 A at the tailcap with three AW 2600mAh . These are 18650’s as I don’t have 26650 yet.

Size comparison, from left to right; Trustfire x100, Solarforce L1200, SkyRay 3xT6

Very poorly equipped beamshot comparison of the three formentioned flashlights.

1. Solarforce L1200

2. SkyRay 3T6

3. Trustfire x100 (this one lit up my complete back garden, amazing amount of light)

In the pictures there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the SkyRay 3T6 and the Trustfire x100, but believe me, the difference was quite noticeable. Pictures were taken with my Galaxy tab 7.7, will try to take better pictures soon.

The hotspot on the X100 looks masive. Nice shots.

Other than this info, here are some current measurements:
3Cell: 3,44amp/1,97amp/0,45amp
4Cell: 2,27amp/1,37amp/0,36amp

Batteries are some nice kingkong 26650 of the good ~4500mah(measured with a discharging hobby charger), not completely charged. ~3,95V at idle.

The flashlight is massive, light output is massive. Can’t wait to do some nice outdoor beamshots!
The body is fitting with the TR-J12, so i can put an extra adapter to make it a 5 Cell flashlight.
Some pictures from my mobile uploaded in this album, where you can see weight, diameter, parts, a comparison against TR-J12 etc:

Wow!!! 8)

Wow great pics so far. Makes the J12 look like a minimag!!

Woohoos….i said 3200L OTF. Do i get a prize?

Wow….close to 40k cd for 3-cells, that is bad ass. It ~ matches the Thrunite TN30 for throw and has about 25% more lumens OTF, with a slight smaller head diameter and magnitudes more efficiency (less heat, able to gun longer, more battery runtime etc).

This is both a flooder and a thrower.

That is nice. That means that good 18650s can work in 3S config as well. With lousier cells you just get more voltage sag and higher current. (Pok mentioned 4 amps with 18650, could be the regular Ultrafires or something or cells nearly depleted)

Most probably the camera settings were not locked (non manual). I can’t see the EXIF though.

Ordered 1 copy, usd 82.34 to my country via China Post Air Mail registered.

OMG, that thing is BIG! :O

I must resist.. I must resist.. I must resist..

Yes is correct, all auto settings with the camera of my tablet. The output of the x100 is really massive, my whole backgarden was lit and people were peaking through curtains to see what was going on … J)

I measured (Fluke DMM) 3,65 A with three AW 18650’s, so using 18650’s in 3S is definitely an option.

Kingkong 26650 have less voltage drop under high current draw due to higher capacity, so i guess they will have less amp draw than a 18650.
More to come stay tuned!

I just realise that i don’t have the cells for it.

I have KK 26650 - 2pcs
MKNE 26650 - 1pc

NCR18650A 3100 unprotected - 2pc
NCR18650 2900 unprotected - 2pc
Sanyo 2600 unprotected - 3pcs (not that comfy to use this as current goes up instead of what happens in the DRY)

XTARs 2600 seems to be the best but these have a slightly high resistance (PCB) so the current would be high. :frowning:

TF Flames 2400 could be an option. And my Solarforce 2400s as well (they have lower resistance than the TF Flames and definitely much less than the XTAR 2600s)

Try to see how it behaves with 2 cells. See if it tries to boost unnecessarily to 6-7A or it just cuts down the output to let the cell slowly drain off.

Previously the intial batches of triple XM-Ls like SR3800, the driver boosts unecessarily HENCE dumping a lot of current through the components before total cut off and eventually fry the drivers after like 10-20 full cycles of usage.

Trustfire J12/3T6 no such issue, they just gracefully kick down the power past a threshold.

Need to determine this with the X100. <— after all they did not recommend 18650s with this light…there could be something that we should be aware of.

I cancelled the order and got a prompt refund. It is not $50 now but $64 as the factory cannot supply at the previous price.

Got a 7amp draw with two 2 26650. Did not measure lumen output, as current was really high and close to 2C of the batteries. Whenever i use these flashlights, i put together a 4sevens protected 26650 battery, to be sure.
Anything else feel free to ask!
