JKK76 7*SFT40 and 7*SFN55.2

JKK76 7x SFN55.2 looks like my step up from the Astrolux EC06. Would have preferred 4-21700 cells as this beast is drawing on max 90-100 amps according to the charts. It doesn’t so high amp cells it is. 690 grams plenty of heat sinking mass, 200 more than the EC06.

I just read that product description on Taobao and this base price of ¥328 already includes W1, LH351D, stainless steel bezel and magnetic tailcap. These all cost extra on his official website. I guess I should have bought them on Taobao lol.

I have already received my JKK76 SFT40 from kaidomain on April 20th and compared it with my MK38 SFT40, including beamshots. You can find my german review of JKK76 here .

My MK38 review you can find here

Sorry, but I don‘t have enough experience with the english language to write english reviews (taks too much time).

Conclusion: JKK76 is a great budget deal but has several drawbacks compared to the MK38.
I‘ve sold my JKK76 after review because i like my MK38 and my self-made EC06 SFT40 much more.

Hmm how do I choose the emitter because I can only see colour options. The price difference is just huge.

I think you would have to request it using the built in chat function. They will then let you know of the additional charge if any.

I checked out some of the listings and it seems that the choice of emitter is fixed but you can ask for a different CCT.

If you look at the reviews under the universal ¥1 listing, you can see a K9.3 with E21a 2000k. So I think you can customize any light just like on intl-outdoor.com

I will be using Taobao next time I buy a Hanklight (it will be my 10th). I wish I had discovered this earlier, a lot of money would have been saved.

Ah okay so that is what the ¥1 listing is for…. very nice! So do we just list down all the customisation in Chinese text, send him a message using the chat and hope for the best?

I guess so.

I wouldn’t feel too bad, Hank started actually listing lights very recently (perhaps only in the last week). Before, the 1元差价 item used for payments was the only thing in the store.

I don’t know if he would be the one monitoring Taobao customer service. Most users on Taobao speak Chinese so I suppose you’d likely get a Chinese speaking customer representative. If you have additional customization, they should tell you if you need to add some more money to process the order.

I’m also not sure if Singaporeans would get the Taobao price since he would have to ship internationally.

From the Taobao app itself I can order his lights and it will be consolidated at a shipping warehouse and send straight from China (either Guangzhou or Hangzhou warehouse) to Singapore.

I have done this a couple of times (bought many different products on Taobao) so I think he should be able to fulfil my order since he only need to arrange for the domestic shipping from his place to the warehouse.

My only concern is how difficult would it be to order a custom light since I never tried communicating with a Chinese customer representative.

Tested the 3000k version of the SFN 55.2. Got 21000-22000 lumens thereabouts.

BTW, just to share some more data.

Luxmeter on the phone. Ceiling bounce.

JKK76 SFN 55.2 6500k doing 180 in one of the middle modes (around 2k+ lumens)
Amutorch DM70 XHP 70.2 doing 205 in one of the middle modes

After 10 minutes, the Amutorch is significantly cooler to the touch both at the head or body vs the JKK76, despite the Amutorch pumping out more lumens.

No time / skills to do runtime though. But i suspect the Cree is quite a bit more efficient than the chinese emitter. But then one must also remember that i believe you do lose some efficiency with dedomed emitters or something like that? I remember such a case with the BLF Q8 with the XP-L and Sofirn Q8 with the XP-L HI. Not a lot but i remember there is a small difference. The XHP 70.2 is not dedomed, obviously, while the SFN 55.2 is dedomed.

Bro, read my above post regarding the JKK76 vs Amutorch DM70.

It does seem that the JKK76 really draws that much current/energy in order to pump out that much lumens. Hence the heatsinking is used up rather quickly as well.
Of coz, the Astrolux EC06 also would not be that efficient at say 25k lumens OTF.

Regardless, the silver body ver of the JKK76 is really sexy. Even my non flashaholic parents, parents in law, kids and wife all said so. They all said WOW. :crown:
That alone, IMO, is a winning money shot, regardless of any -ve it’d have. :money_mouth_face:
I believe that is the same with the Mateminco MT18X.

I’ve got the Amutorch DM70 and it gets hot just running one short turbo. Too expensive to just swap LED’s and only the XHP50’s would work. Still questing for the next lumen monster.

Yes that short turbo would be around 35-40 secs at say 25 deg C. I just ran the JKK76 SFN 5.2 and DM70 70.2 again for 30 seconds in turbo, then let it sit for another 30 seconds. Both flashlights head/body are around the same temperature ballpark despite the JKK76 having nearly 200g higher mass. Lower modes are even worse for the JKK76, say both at around 2000 lumens, not sure why……maybe it’s driver efficiency or what. Luckily i am not really into runtimes or longer duration usage and this light has USB-C……if this does not have USB-C (eg Amutorch DM70) then it’d really be ughhh…

Only difference is that the DM70 has a handle, so i think it might be a bit more useful when in the highest non turbo mode, ie 4th setting. Esp in my tropical country.

So that is why i posted that it wouldn’t really be much of a step up from your EC06, they are literally all in the same ballpark IMO.

Lumen monster….
I already knew of the Imalent MS12 mini about 1.5 months ago when i purchased these 2 JKK76 and DM70, that then is a true step up from the JKK76/DM70….definitely. I can get past 60k lumens with these 3 lights that i have of coz, but then i’d need 3 hands. lol.
I don’t mind paying the cash for this MS12 mini for fun (still expensive, but not overly so for the performance and active cooling with 3 fans), only issue is that it has a battery pack.
You are a 2012 BLF member and perhaps you have been playing since CPF days in the early 2000s, i think you know what i mean. I am still using lights with xm-l, xpg and xpe, they are still usable. :crown:
edit - heck i still have my DRY triple xm-l direct drive. lol

But the Imalent ms12 mini in 8 years 10 years 12 years time ? Just gonna be a paper weight, and the packs are gonna be $$$ even if the coy is still around and did not EOL this particular 4pcs 21700 pack.

So with this can style ight should I go flood (sfn55.2) or throw (sft40)?

Really depends on what you’ve got and what is your interest and usage man, it’s a tough call. I think the hotspot size of the SFT40 would be similar to my Sofirn Q8 pop can (5k lumens, 100kcd, times 3 of this and focus at the same spot and it’d be the JKK76 SFT40). The usage of my Sofirn Q8 is rather limited in my city area, other than ceiling bounces for more diffused illum.

But then your usage might be different from mine. Some people like throw more, some want something in between, some prefer more flood. Actually at 150k cd thereabouts, the SFN 55.2 can throw a fair bit as well.

Besides i’ve already gotten the Haikelite HT50, 6k lumens and 500kcd confirmed by me and some other users, so that part is covered. This one is just 1/3rd the price of a JKK76 w/SFT40, before the price on TB went up.

If the JKK76 SFT40 is at say rmb 488 on TB like the first launched price of 428 rmb sfn 55.2 version, i might just get this as well. lol. Unfortunately it’s not. I like soda can lights a lot, find them practical for my usage and the pants that i always wear, no need for holsters. I still remember those 3 cell lights like the Trustfire TR-j18 etc. Those are really …. :person_facepalming:
