Say, does anyone know what the manufacturer of the SFX LEDs is?
I might be interested, since it seems like they might be making a 3/6V 5050 LED, which would be really interesting to have as XHP50 alternative, not just XM-L2.
This will be my first soda can light, I like the gimmicky usb charger out and as I’m really looking for a wow effect. My only other lumen monster is an astrolux ft02s with xhp50.2 so I’m hoping this jkk76 will blow that away.
As far a throw King, I have the c8+ with w1 and a sbt90.2 so I’m looking for something to top those. It’ll also be my first sft40 I guess.
Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if they could make it with my specifications at all.
One thing that I’ve learned throughout my adventures and electronic experience is that as long as you don’t change the silicon floorplan to do something semi-custom(such as a completely different series/parallel arrangement), it’s fine asking for different optical characteristics since that’s outside of the chip fabbing process.
Can international customers order from here? I have debit gift cards which I can’t use on PayPal to order from his website since they are geo restricted to my county
What payment options are available on Taobao? Maybe I’ll look and see if I can use those gift cards there
I got gifted a few $25 Amex cards and I found you can use them through PayPal but it takes 10 cents for the verify so you’re only able to spend $24.90. I asked hank if i can get a light and do a few small payments that would eventually end up to the actual cost of the light but i dont think he understood and just told me to go through with the order on his site. But ymmv.
I learned the hard way, no expensive lights for tomorrows paper weight or relic. I spent lots for a 1700 lumen 6.4 amp quad xpg P60 dropin, now much less for much more even just on P60 dropins. So no $300 lights to be beaten by $60 lights next year. I’ll wait for the $60 one. Efficient LED’s over high output ones. XHP50 and 70 have won the lumen per watt race that keeps heat down.
I have enough to do one large payment. Hank’s website with PayPal is probably setup to accept payment the same way AliExpress does as a foreign transaction which is probably why mine didn’t go through.
Haven’t looked into this too much since 519A are taking a while to get to Hank
It would be hard and probably not worth the trouble unless there are cheap, established freight forwarders servicing your country. The Singaporean in this thread has used a freight forwarder with success.
Yep. I just checked ali, Imalent is asking for just under usd200 for its 4 * 21700 pack. what the…. Very sure that disassembling the pack without destroying it and soldering back on new cells is beyond my expertise, coz Imalent for sure would wanna protect this cash cow. Something like inkjet printer cartridges. lol.
If not, the Imalent ms12 mini is pretty decent. i guess we just have to wait for some budgetlight maker to drop in 7 or 9 pcs of the Cree into their hosts. ie Amutorch, Nightwatch or JKK. Issue is that the market for this wont be huge in China, they do support these domestic LEDs.
On the Road also have decent hosts/lights, but a bit lagging on its emitter options and most importantly its price sucks.
Haikelite is a neither here or there, but his HT50 @ rmb 198 doing 500kcd and 6k lumens then before the price rise is very good.
Ok people, i have gotten some data/answers with some testing from my cells. Sharing here since most are high lumen chasers here and hence battery info ought to be welcomed (even though we get it mostly from lygte/mooch/vaping community etc).
Namely my Samsung 50G, Samsung 40T, Lishen 21700LA (4000mAh) and Lishen 21700HP (3000mAh)…on the JKK76.
All cells fully charged and pretty new/new.
RAW numbers on the meter. JKK76 6500k SFN 55.2 ceiling bounce. Springs are bypassed with rolled up aluminum foil connecting top to bottom part of the spring. The foil is probably around 10 awg thereabouts, more than sufficient, stock spring is decent enough too, but not sure if capable of doing 30-33 amps.
3pcs 50G = 2100 range.
1pc = never test.
3pcs 40T = 2300 range.
1pc = 1200 range
3pcs Lishen 21700LA = 2300 range
1pc = 1200 range
3pcs Lishen 21700HP = 2300 range
1pc = 1400 range.
Obviously the driver is trying to limit pure output. Reason? Trying to protect the SFN 55.2s?
If it’s pure drive drive, i ought to be doing 4200 in theory (of coz it wont hit that in reality). ie the Lishen 21700HP should not be the limiting factor, neither should the springs……at least not for the first 1-2 seconds. So it should be able to do 33k lumens easy, if not in pure DD it should be pushing over 40k @ turn on
My Amutorch DM70 with 4pcs cree 70.2s 6500k is pushing 1900 range on the meter.
Of coz not that it matters in reality, just a useless flasholic rambling.
