What you got today

Got my UF H3 today! After 3 months! Yay! :D

Today I got a Jackpot:

- Romisen RC-T601 II U2 from RedForest UK: Very nice. Works well, draws 3.1A on high. Thanks RedForest UK!

- Three knives from DD (ordered 5/28, received 6/14 -> 17 days):
- SRM 613: Probably a nice knife, but not for me. Not impressed.
- SRM 721: Nice, thin knife with a straight blade. I like!
- SRM AU4719: Wow! Great little knife! Thin enough, very nice design, can be flipped open with one hand. Design kind of reminds me of the Leatherman Freestyle CX multitool. Best of these three, IMHO. Recommended! ($7.19 with coupon code "retailmenot10off", free shipping - Not bad at all!)

- Two flashlights from DD (ordered 5/25, received 6/14 -> 20 days)
- Tank007 E09: Nice little light. Gray color suits it well. More impressions later.
- Bronte RA01 Purple: Looks cool. Didn't even open it yet.. :)

+ something in the post office. Maybe it't the Skilhunt Ramble Iota from DD. Let's see..

Edit: No it wasn't. It was 20 x Energizer Ultimate Lithium OEM from eBay: Multiple colors, all cells 1.80-1.81V. Good.

Mind my asking what you paid for it? Our own E1320 would have made a better one along with custom mode programming.

That’s cool. I’ve never seen a Nailbender drop-in before, just heard about them. From all I’ve heard about them you couldn’t go wrong with getting one from him.

Why would it be better?

The mode is exactly what I wanted-

I paid $40 + $5 for potting-

Better because for $28 you could get up to 3.5A potted and regulated and modes setup any way you wanted. Not saying that nailbender’s stuff is bad, but there are equal and/or better options available for less. If you checked out the link I posted above you would see why your next one shouldn’t be a nailbender.

I’ve put in a 14500 at 4.10V and nothing broke so far. I liked it before, now I love it!

I’m afraid to run it for too long on high, though. :frowning:

XML 5C ————————XML 4B————————XML 3C—————————XML 1A

I got a “UltrqFire C8” XML for 12.95$ shipped from NJ.

Got some solarforce drop ins from itc_shop on ebay = jo from solarforceflashlight-sales.com paid for them on 6-7-2012 and received them today 6-14-2012!!!

Oh. I noticed that I actually ordered what look slike ZB4719, but got AU4719. Let's see what DD CS says about this.. ;)

I think AU looks even better, so I shouldn't be complaining..

ZB:

AU:

BTW: Why is there no love for this knife? Didn't find real reviews or anything.. And I was very surprised about how good it looks & feels. Small, quite thin, and with unique design. What's not to love?

Got the C8 today from ebay seller

The threads were nice and lubed, glass lense, and metal reflector. Great price just over $8. Ordered 5-26-12, received 6-14-12. Waiting for dark to compare with the small sun zy-c10-s

Yesterday I got the newest addition to my Eneloop collection:

8 aaa = Sanyo Eneloop Tone Chocolat

Just came in: Maha MH-C808M AA - AAA - C - D battery charger.

First thing I couldn't help but notice is this thing is huge [12.63" (L) x 5.25" (W) x 3" (H)]. So now I need to quickly read the manual and start the long process of charging 12 Tenergy 10000mAh batteries.

I have three examples of E1320's work and all are well constructed and function perfectly .

I have 3 of them as well and I plan on buying several more to replace all my other P60 drop-in's. His work is the best I've seen so far.

Just got this Superflash clone today. It’s bright and works very well. I’ll probably do a review of it later.

@DICK: Are those 5C really warm white or just more neutral than 3C?

More neutral, the pictures a little misleading they are much closer to the 3C than it looks. There really easy on the eyes, it’s my new favorite tint. I got three to try out but I think I am going to keep them all and get some more to sell. I have a feeling these are going to sell out quick. Here is the link.

aL1, there is nothing about a nailbender to “copy”. He uses standard, easily available parts that the rest of use. We all pretty much make the same exact pills he does, I know I do. The driver he uses is the most popular one here we all use. He uses the same pills, the same emitters. I use silver plated copper strand wires with silicone casing on mine. Not sure he does though. Many of us pot our drivers as well just like he does, nothing he invented. Everything in his lights is standard off-the-shelf components. He provides a good service for those who are either unable or don’t know how to solder for themselves. As long as they don’t have a problem paying anywhere from $40-$65 for the service then I don’t have a problem. Hell, I’m envious he is able to get that much for what is essentially $15-$20 in materials and 10 minutes of time.

Erik (E1320) will add or remove AMC7135 chips to the boards to customize their output for the customer. He will even custom program the drivers providing 6 modes from firefly all the way to crazy bright, with or without memory and with no flashy modes. This is something you cannot get from nailbender. If you don’t want that he will set the modes using the Nanjg mode selection stars just like nailbender and the rest of us do. That is what makes his better than a “nailbender” and he does it for $28 with your choice of tint. Many others here do exactly the same on our own personal dropins, adding chips and/or custom programming, we just don’t offer our skills for sale because most of us don’t have the time to take on the extra work. For those that can’t do it themselves, Erik’s work is top-notch, as good as or better than nailbenders, and a steal for what little he charges for his time and labor.

JohnnyMac nailed it .
