WildTrail WT90 - SBT90.2 1800m+ throw 90mm 3x 21700 With Texas_Ace driver

Have the few issues this light has been addressed?

Yes, they should be but the bigger issue right now is that they are apparently not for sale anywhere. Seems that they can not get all the parts needed to do another batch.

Hopefully they can get back in the SBT90 game. My order of preference:

WildTrail WT90
Convoy L8
Lumintop X9L
Convoy L7

Taking the silver WT90 out of the box last year was like pulling Excalibur from the rock. It’s a very, very nice torch

Long day yesterday. Got home. Got a haircut, went and saw a Toto and journey.
12-hour day today, hopefully I’ll play with the wild trail tonight

They’re here in Chicago now. Concert any good?

Yea Rosemont.

It was better than I expected. Twas fun.

(I maintain a misleading location)

I would be in for one (or two) of the next batch.

Yeah, that’s what was confusing.
I’ve got a buddy who offered me a ticket. Didn’t want to deal with rush hour traffic to get up there.

I really like it as well. Nobody has made a big flashlight like this one. It’s a work of art and lots of machine work. The only bummer is the parasitic drain, although they’ve mostly fixed it and it’s way better than before, and the non regulated driver (a buck driver would have been awesome, but probably at a performance deficit and significant price increase).

I also like this thing very much, although I rarely use it. It’s the one flashlight from my collection that always shocks people who aren’t used to flashlights.

You vs. the one she tells you not to worry about.

Hilarious!!!

Any feedback if this light will be sold again?

Nothing yet, I would just search their aliexpress store from time to time. If they make another batch I am betting they will make enough to last awhile. That said I would not hold your breath for another batch at this point.

I asked few months back via Aliexpress message system, and they said 2-3 months before WT90 is back in stock. So if they were speaking the truth, then soon it should be available.

Cool, sounds like they are making progress then. I have not talked to them directly in some time.

I am glad to still have this light. I did do a very unofficial "test" and the parasitic drain was higher than I had originally thought. So I just store the light now without the batteries in my case w other large throwers.
i still have the mcpcb for the carrier I bought from TA I haven't installed yet, but good to know it would fixe the PD problem.

Anywwy, having the wt90 made me realize that I definitely do not need a K1 sbt90.2 version in my collection. For them being about the same price, there is no question which one is more impressive. That's just my thoughts. Plus imo WildTrail nailed the reflector/centering ring / led placement with the WT90. It rivals the beam perfection of my k75 (though throws less of course)

I noticed a similar trend on my light. After almost a year the batteries were much lower then expected so I also just store it without batteries for now. Someday I might get around to installing the PCB’s but not in a hurry.

I keep the GT4 loaded and ready for any truly big light job and 95% of the time my smaller lights are enough.

I cant remember who mentioned it earlier, but i found out my usb connector shorts with the tube as well.
It’s almost invisible, but it does make slight contact and you can see a minor spark. (Test it in the dark)
So i disassembled the carrier and sanded down the corners of the USB connector to prevent any unwanted current flow.
It seems to relate with the LED glow in standby, when the USB connects with the tube, the led glow issue is visible.
Its still there after modifying, but seems to be reduced.

EDIT
Is was THIS post

My USB and LED in carrier were disabled by a mod.

This is what it looked like with the Parasitic drain …when lit.

Not sure what spark you are guys are talking about.

While the carrier is inserted in the light, When I push the negative end of the carrier towards the positive end , the main LED for the light temporary flashes. But that is not a spark. It still does this even though the USB and the LED light are disabled.

No concern whatsoever. That’s just getting contact. I believe you can do that with a lot of lights just pressing on the battery to the head of the light and it will turn on.
