Poll: Choice of 5050 GT-FC30 6/12V R9070 vs 7070 GT-FC60 6/12V R9080 for the Getian group buy

Yes. That’s the stated goal.

Otherwise, we’d have the same problem the GT-FC40 currently faces: 12V only.

It’s a limitation that I don’t like and plan to solve, since it would make the LEDs themselves a lot more usable.

Aaah I don’t like this.

I wanted the FC30 to be more popular lmao.

Well, once I receive and test the LEDs on Friday, I’ll close the poll.

Don’t listen to them. They don’t know what they are saying…

Good one, but I can see why people would want the FC60: more efficient FC40, with our own tint binning, and 6/12V compatibility.

Also, I think this is the main reason why:

FC60 = R9080.
FC30 = R9070.

Now you see why :sunglasses:

Still…don’t listen to them.

FC30 is 2steps ahead of any XHP50.3 and folks are using it in big numbers.
Do you guys even realize form factor we are talking about?

Hey hey, I still don’t have the samples.

Let’s not sell the bear skin before we’ve even captured the bear.

Friday just can’t come sooner damn it :disappointed:

I think people are choosing the GT-FC60 because with 6V it would be a direct swap for the XHP70.2. Also, most XHP70.2 with 90CRI are slightly green and the R9 is not very high. If the GT-FC60 really comes with a negative Duv and a better efficiency than the GT-FC40 it will be my new favourite 7070 led.

I would have a few flashlights for a GT-FC60 in 6V. 6V drivers are more common than 12V drivers.

For example, I have a reflector for eight XHP70 and with the GT-FC60 in 6V I can use it instead of the XHP70.2 and get a beautiful tint. :sunglasses:

Maybe if the two future group buys are successful and BlueSwordM has time later we could also run a group buy for the GT-FC30?

Perhaps.

I’ll leave the poll running, but it’s pretty obvious which LED will win :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll do it with the FC60 unless the tide is massively reversed.

It’s still a fine choice, but it looks like I’ll need to sell some lights so I can afford getting 7070 lights :stuck_out_tongue:

Can you list some stats on these chips?

All of the stats are in the original thread:

Color, tint and throw numbers are all known, but lumen numbers are the thing we don’t know much about yet.

60 > 30

I’ve got to decided until I make the order, but looks like we’re going with the FC60 after all :sunglasses:

I mean, it’s fine, I can perfectly understand wanting the R9080 FC60 over the R9070 FC30: the improved dynamic range offered by such an LED is considerable.

However, my envy for the FC30 is still greater, so I’ll open the GB a bit later than I wanted so we can finally decide(after the samples are tested obviously).

That’s my reason. I have several 6V XHP70 lights sitting unused because pretty much all forms of the XHP70 are ugly.

I’d also buy FC30s.

Like BSW said, i’m more eager to get FC30…

What kind of MOQ are we talking about here anyway?

I’m talking about 1000-2500pcs depending on current demand.

You know what, F it.

The XHP70.3 HI doesn’t look very good, so we’ll go with this one instead.

After that goes the FC30

Sweet!

It has been chosen.

The GT-FC60 will be the 1st LED to get a group buy.

Let’s see how they perform first, the poll is a bit hasty in my opinion.
