The Dl70 is well sealed and glued. You just need to get the bezel off and pry out the driver. You may have to get to it from top of the LED shelf and tap it out with a bamboo skewer through the LED wire holes.
Received an email from someone called Eric from Wurkkos informing me that the UK isnāt in Europe and heās cancelled my ordered and refunded me. Thatās news to me that the UK is no longer in Europe!
I got mine yesterday. No glue on bezel. Board is screwed to the reflector. When the screws are to tight, the board gets bended. I fixed it and it is running good.
There are lots of practikal differences between Europe (48+ countries) and the European Union (EU, 27 countries). Poland, where the Wurkkos warehouse is located, belongs to both groups.
The UK has left the EU, so as far as customs are concerned it falls pretty much under the same rules as every other non-EU country like Switserland, Turkey or the USA.
A lot of people donāt know the difference. To send a light to the UK creates too much paperwork because the UK does no longer belong to the EU.
And this warehouse was obviously established to deliver within the EU.
I understand all of that, but the OP said Europe not the EU, so there was no reason to think it couldnāt be shipped to the UK. There really isnāt that much more paperwork, Hank manages it from his warehouse in Germany.
I assume that Eric lives in China, not Poland. And if he does not know the the difference, there is a chance he wrote one thing, but actually meant another thing. So to speak.
Talking about paperwork. If it is really not that much more paperwork, why have almost all sellers of carparts in the UK stopped selling/shipping them after the Brexit?
I have no idea about the supplying of car parts unfortunately. Iām in the timber industry and weāve had no significant issues importing or exporting goods, other than a bit of a delay at the border initially.
Received my today, removed Bezel (not glued) but led ist oviosly screwed to the shelf from driver side.
Any hints to remove the press fitted driver whitout destroying the driver?
Der Treiber ist nicht eingepresst,sondern geklebt.Ich hab einfach eine Schraube in eines der beiden Lƶcher geschraubt und gezogen. Danach musst du die Kabel vom Treiber ablƶten.
The reflector sits on top of the four centering rings (which is fine by itself, but only if the rest of the design matches it).
The two screws that hold the MCPCB to the reflector were tightened too much and bent the MCPCB. The only purpose of the screws is to keep the sandwich of MCPCB, centering rings and reflector together during assembly. A spacer between MCPCB and reflector might help.
These two screws of the reflector (4.2 mm diameter) do not fit into the two pockets of the head (4.0 mm)! The MCPCB will never make good contact with the head!
The center screw was loose, about 2 mm left.
Thermal compound was barely touching the surfaces.
To fix these issues:
First I had to disassemble everything. Driver was easy to remove with snap ring pliers, bezel took some effort (and now Iāve got some blisters on my hands).
Then I removed the old thermal compound and cleaned everything with IPA.
Next I drilled to two pockets to 4.5 mm, deburred them and the holes for the wires as well.
Loosened the two screws on the reflector.
Added (probably too muchā¦) thermal paste, evenly spread over the MCPCB (usually I prefer a single drop, but Iām not sure if it would distribute good enough because the MCPCB canāt be moved/rotated).
Put everything back together.
Not the head heats up quickly, which should be a good sign. Havenāt glued the driver back in, just held by the battery tube.
