Unbranded amazon 18650 2200mah cells

Hi,

My son ordered a tactical torch off amazon, it arrived with a USB 18650 charger and 2 x 18650 batteries, these have a blue and black wavy wrap and have a stetted 2200mah capacity but with no branding, they do feel like the correct weight compared to other genuine 18650 cells, I then run a charge discharge test on my smart charger, this showed 4.21v capacity, one cell had 1950mah and the other 2050mah capacity, the question is will these be safe to use or not, I am always cautious with anything amazon.

Do a “refresh”, ie, 3 ups’n’downs and record the 3 runs, see how consistent they are.

Also, if running at 1A up/down, make sure they barely break a sweat. Mildly warm is okay, feverish is bad, hot is kill the test right there and toss ’em.

Sounds like properly marked cells from a generic mfr.
As already stated If they dont lose capacity over a few test cycles or run hot use them.

also, check the charger.
pull/push (gently) to make sure
every little thing is stable.

recently, the “cheap-o” charger
which came with the budget “torch”
lost both blades. of course, i installed
both back to complete the charge, and
discarded the charger afterwards.
one and done.

Some of the included chargers are actually dangerous.
They can have poor isolation from the ac line or in the case of the usb ones since some are just series diodes overcharge esp if the usb supply is a bit high.
I just assume they are crap till i investigate.
Those cheapie ac powered slider chargers are especially bad.
They are even marginal to repurpose as a universal holder.

I would not use the charger, I have several good chargers, Nitecore, Litto etc
