Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

So, I have had some time to play with my new TS21 and have a few observations that might be of interest. I am thinking there are 3 versions, the Anduril 1, Anduril 2 without power bank and Anduril 2 with power bank.

Mine appears to be the transition Anduril 2 model, my documentation does not mention power banking and I am trying to think of a way to test the feature that will not damage the driver if I am wrong. I still have not figured out the switch light, I am able to change it from off to dim to bright and blinking bright. It does react when going from regulated to direct drive. Mine draws 8.5 amps in turbo with the included 5000mAh cell with a Samsung 50E the light pulls 9.8 amps. I lost the 4000k tint lottery, lots of green and it is glued up pretty well. I am seeing .012~ amps in standby. I am also a little bummed that 3C from locked does not unlock to off and that there are no flashing pads.

I really do like the light, while large it still carries well. I EDC’ed it all weekend and it was a good jeans front pocket fit! The ribbed body really makes if feel like a large Zebralight, overall I am pretty happy with the light.

Just got mine. Other than really cheap-feeling zippers, it seems like a decent jacket overall. Should be relatively warm.

You have to do the 10H to toggle over to the advanced UI. Default is simple UI.

Mine has a glitch where when I ramp up to max, not turbo, the light shuts off. It happened three times, typically after I unscrewed/tightened the tail cap. It didn't happen after that in further testing. At least, so far today. I'll keep testing it.

My TS21 will arrive today. Hope I’m up to programming out these inherent glitches. I have other lights with Anduril but have never ventured beyond the basic UI.

I can’t figure out the light for the switch either. I thought it would indicate charge level when turned on. First, mine is blue not green. It seems to come on randomly. At times it seems to glow weakly amber. Even thought the cell if fully charged. I haven’t run the cell down to see if it actually will change with power level. It does flash blue when charging and goes on steadily when fully charged. Fortunately, everything else works as it is supposed to. Though I don’t know how to check the power bank function without risk…
Overall it is a nice light, especially at ~$26 including a decent battery.
It is about a half inch shorter than my S21B, but bigger in diameter and heavier. Maybe just a bit too large for EDC pocket use.
It is just not very bright considering it’s specs. But tint is pretty good on mine.
I would still call it a “BUY” if the deal is still good. I don’t think I would go for it at full price. But I just have too many similar lights to make it something I need.

I haven't had any trouble with my zippers, but if that's the biggest problem, I'm still very happy with my jackets.

I have a lightweight jacket made by the same manufacturer.

It's awesome but it's not on a crazy sale like the ski jackets are.

The lightweight jacket is $30, which is a good deal, but it's not on sale.

I checked and some of the ski jackets are now 75% off. I picked up a couple…… @ -$50 for both
:+1:
Thx RC

The switch light does not indicate charge level, that is 3 clicks from off and it will count out the battery voltage. The light has a known quirk where the switch will do random flashes.

random flashes.
—-that is ’’lightning mode”

I couldn’t pass one up either - found one in orange at $70 - 80%, so for $14 pre-tax… I’ll have one more coat for the Phoenix winters.

Get out your 10X magnifier — Wow the writing is small in the manual — I found a Anduril 2 diagram on BLF — Nice light —Same old crap as the FW3 — when it gets hot it continues to step down

What would you prefer as an alternative? Alternative would be to get the light so hot that you would not be able to touch it or to have the light so big that it would not be practical as an EDC.

or just limit output to about 200 lumen

i do not see why that is ever preferable

Yep, continual stepdown, or at least my FW3A does.
I have grown to once again prefer modes, if it gets to hot I “step it down” manually or wear thicker gloves.

Timed “step down” is nice too.

To each their own.

you can change the temp where it steps down

or change the thermometer calibration

you may burn your light up but hey

I don’t mind the light stepping down — I do mind it continuing to step down to 200- 250 lumens then ramp back up —- I have verified the FW3 does this (Light Tube) even when I set the top of the ramp to 700 lumens — They do this little dance from 700 lumens down to 200 lumens then slowly work their way back up to around 600 lumens
I’m not sure if the Wurkkos does this, but I will be checking it further — I know I had it outside for a very short time and it was continuing to step down

Maybe I’m just Too Dumb to get use out of Anduril

but when it cools off, shouldn;t it go back higher?

Yep, I am aware of the option to set stepdown temp. The range is limited however & the FW3A gets hot very quickly, as I am sure you are aware.

For Anduril 2, this looks like a great guide: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/65927
