My takeaway from the last couple pages is that the Convoy 12 modegroup interface is the pinnacle of practical (non-fidget) modern flashlight interfaces.
It’s got it’s quirks but it’s pretty great. I have a few things I’d like to see improved, but they’re mostly just small personal preference things rather than deal breakers problems like with the e-switch UI.
12 groups with the rear clicky is excellent for handing to the wife and kids. Buy the most powerful one you can get in a reasonable size (21700 sizes are my favs) and set it to mode 8.
I just ordered the S12 with three 519a R9080 emitters in it...cannot wait to see that color rendition compared to the Sofirn SP36 with LH351D in 5000k, though I suppose that color temp isn't apples to apples.
12 Groups or the copy of Biscotti has been refined through later iterations such as Bistro and it’s showing its age and unfortunately we are stuck with it as there’s no easy upgrade to the driver firmware anymore.
FYI, I just received eight new C8 glass lenses and all of them have the pink AR coat. If you are purchasing these individually, don’t expect them to have the new green AR coat.
If anyone in the USA needs these, PM me. I will send them to you for free.
Simon, I’m wanting to build a small 450nm royal blue light and I think the T3 host and driver (complete light of course) will be perfect. Does the T3 use the same cut shape mcpcb as the T2? If so, could I buy a couple of spare mcpcb from you on that order?
