what LED to use in a C8+ convoy?

Dear users of the forum, I am looking for help to choose which LED should I choose for a C8+ convoy that will be used for hunting. the LEDs in question are both from Osram: KW CSLNM1.TG or KW CULPM1.TG both powered up to 5A (according to what Simon informed me). I’m using an automatic translation, sorry for the mistakes.

Convoy 5A driver is actually 5.7A and will be overdriving the CSLNM1.TG. I had CSLNM1.TG before and swapped the emitter to CULPM1.TG.

Where did you find information about such a high current? All my 5A drivers from Simon do not do more than they should be.

All the new 5A drivers with the R020 instead of R010 drive at 5.5 - 5.7A. Myself and others have tested and confirmed this issue. The driver with R010 had a group reset bug, after fixing, the drivers were shipped with R020

The Anekims I have use those CSI.NY emitters, ’though forgot which ones specifically.

Ah, found it:

Speaking of the emitter, it’s a Osram CSLNM1.F1 green LED, with 1sqmm die, and phosphor-converted green (a blue emitter with green-emitting phosphor layer on top). A small emitter in a large reflector means lots of throw.

That’s the green, and it’s similar for the white version.

Those li’l beasties throw like Hell…

Yeah, the green cslnm1 with 5A driver gets 1150m. I measured at 20m, but my meter seems to be 5% too high, so 1,092m

I knew about the group reset bug, but not about too high current. Thanks.

thanks for the reply. The led culpm1.tg will be being wasted with 5.7 A?

Get this driver for 8A in the C8+ . I use it in my C8+ PM1 builds I sell for hunting and I get 977m

17mm version for the C8+

I would go for the Convoy C8+ KW CULPM1.TG ,18650 flashlight. It has a slightly warmer tint, but still throws well and has a decent amount of output too.

Have you tried SFT40 led? I think it’s a newer and better choice

Yep, the SFT40 is the current king of budget throwy emitters, if that's what you're after.

It's my favorite emitter right now, though I only have one flashlight with that emitter.

Just wondering what type of ranges you are needing this to function at? What type of optics will you utilize (on the boomstick, not the flashlight).

With a freshly charged P26A I’m getting 5.6A with 2AWG wire on a stock C8+ 5A driver CSLNM1. An SFT40 mod with 8A driver would be nice but I think I’ll keep this one as is.
