Wanted: 5 lumen warm color temp AA or AAA

Thanks for the response. I’m looking at the olight i5t plus as a option. It has a 15 lumen mode and is available in a 2700k color temp. Is there any other lights similar to this? I’m not sure if 15 lumens will be too bright or not for my needs.

I don’t have the i5T Plus, so I cannot talk much about that light. Normally they Olight are solid lights, the LEDs are not High CRI (I guess), and they have 2 modes, Low and High. They are not easily modifiable, though.

As for the amount of lumens you will need, that is a very specific thing. You’d need to test it to see what you really need.

You can opt for different types of AA lights, though, that will allow you to “choose” a certain output level.
Sofirn SP10 Pro, is side switch light, a uses 1xAA /1x14500 battery, runs Anduril, and allows you to configure it to allways use a single brightness level (if I recall correctly).

It doesn’t come in 2700K but maybe you can modify it or ask someone to do it for you.

Thanks, I will look into that. Hopefully I can find a a warm dim light that does not require modifications. So far I really have not came across a warm light that fit my requirements so I may need to modify.

The now discontinued Sofirn C01 is what you seek. AAA, 3400K Sophia 5mm LED, twisty one mode, 7-8 lumens. They were sold anywhere from $3.99 - $7.99 USD. They also manufactured a red LED version. Might be able to find some on the secondary market, like eBay.

AE seems to still carry the C01:

Edit: The red anodized one has red light at 670 nm at probably less than 1 lm. The others are white.

I’m still looking for something similar that will fit my needs as well :frowning:
guess I better built it myself.

Neo’s Roadside Recovery

Has anyone bought a discounted light from AE. I don’t really trust they will actually send me the right light. It seams to be sold out everywhere else and it is not even mentioned on the sofrin website any more. Hopefully I can find one in 3400k and red, they are what I’m looking for.

But the AE shop is actually the official Sofirn shop. Look at the feedback, end of May a customer received the correct light.

Edit: Oh wait … the pictures show a C01S!

Thanks for the info!

Sorry, had to edit my post above. The pictures show a different light :frowning:

oh to bad, I will try and find one used

What about a Sofrin SP10 Pro? Although it is a 1 AA light with Anduril 2. Not sure how well it would perform when the floor and ceiling set to the 5 lumen range.

I cant find the color temp of the flashlight. I need a very warm light.

It’s 5000 K, slightly green.

Thanks! That color temp will not work for my application. Still on the hunt for a dim warm light.

I think the Sofirn C01 is good if you can find it, or the Sofirn C01S if you never use the high mode.

I will look for a CO1, i want the warmer color temp. I think 4000k of the CO1S will not be warm enough for my use case.

I see you are in the US, S2000. Maybe you live near someone from here and that person can mod the SP10 for you, with a warmer LED.

It is hard to find the kind of light you are searching for, ready to buy.

@S2000

+1 for the Sofirm C01 at 3400K from Sofirn Store on AE and they also have the Red LED in same form factor.

If you are so inclined and prefer more runtime, a warm 5mm LED tweaked to fit a 2xAA Maglite might serve your needs as well. The tweak is a matter of resizing the LED and reflector, then pairing with rechargeable constant 1.5V lithium you can get consistent regulated output for days.

Those gchart joule thief drivers are excellent. I swapped one into aNOS four sevens atom along with a 219b sw35. Just an awesome little light. I agree with others, though. Sounds like the Sofirn c01 is exactly what you want. Alternatively perhaps peak can make an Eiger to suit you?
