The driver has not been fully repaired, and there are still some problems. I had to produce dedicated drivers for S21C and S21D,
S21C has one less lamp bead than S21D, and there is no difference in other aspects. I consider installing ordinary color rendering index and high brightness LEDs for S21C, such as CREE XPL HD.
I think the S21D is the most underrated light on the market. Almost no one hypes it. Only a handful of reviews for it (all positive). Once more of them are in people’s hands and folks are posting about them and reviewing them sales will take off.
Granted, I’m biased. I think they are awesome. Simon is sending me a sample of the new 12A driver to install in one, so I’m pretty excited. I’ll have a 8A 519a 5700k and 12A 519a 5700k to compare head to head, along with my current 219b & 519a 4500k models.
This is so relatable. I think about some purchases for weeks and the result is that opportunity sometimes passes me by. On the bright side, at least I’m saving money on some frivolous purchases.
Nope. It’s the 219B you don’t want to use with the 5A driver. The 519 can handle it just fine.
Djozz tested it, and the 519A peaks in brightness around 6A. So 5A is a nice max current. It’ll get hot in an S2 of course, but it won’t harm the emitter.
If you want to run high mode without extra heat the 3A driver fine too. But you’ll have to solder it to the pill, which is annoying.
