KC1 keychain light is available now

Has anyone found an alternate drop in TIR for the DM11? Maybe with a 20* or 30* spot? And does the existing one fit an XHP 70.3 dedomed?

Using Orbtronic 3500 mAH unprotected for the DW4 with E21A emitters

What are you running?

Sanyo or Molicel ?

Other ?

Has anyone compaired this unprotected Orbtronic with the competition

Been using their protected cells for several years now and quite satisfied

Any luck with getting a D18 with UV emitters? Last I checked with him,
getting one with (18) 5w UV emitters was a no go.

What a pity…(

I wanted to buy a flashlight (DW4), but Paypal supports Ukraine and does not work in Russia. Could you add another request for payment?!

Geopolitics have certainly taken a turn that harms many uninvolved. If you cannot work out an alternative form of payment perhaps an intermediary can assist.

I noticed there is no 5000K LED options. I would like to ask a couple of questions regarding the LEDs in 5000K range.

I was looking for E21A in 5000K, but I do not see that option anymore. Is E21A 5000K coming back?

I heard 519A can be a better option than E21A, but I only see 5700K and not 5000K.

How does 519A 5700K compare with E21A 5000K in the lights?

Here are some interesting observations I made on E21A and 519A both in 5000K.
a) My KR4 with E21A measures close to 5000K in CCT when measured with Opple Light Master. The measurements did not change much from low to high output.
b) My Covoy light has 519A in 5000K, but CCT measurement are 4400K in low and 4700K in high output.

I just yesterday did some measurements on the 5700K 519A, in the hotspot from a reflector (without lens), stock and with a sliced dome. I will post the numbers tonight, do not have them here, but I can already tell that when used in a reflector, the 519A is not 5700K but somewhere around 5200/5300K (and nicely very close to the BBL, with great CRI and R9).

Thanks for the information.

Indeed my Convoy has an OP reflector. It is Convoy T3 with 13 groups.

I wonder if the consistent measurements across outputs (ranges from 4950K to 5050K) in my KR4 is due to the frosted TIR optic or the E21A. E21A versions of KR4 were equipped with frosted TIR optics.

Or… the difference in LED drivers has to do with the variations of CCT depending on output.

I wonder how 519A 5700K performs in KR4 or D4V2.

Any news ? I ordered on the same day and still no update for me .

Here’s the numbers (measured with a Gossen Mavospec Base spectrometer) in a hotspot of a light-OP reflector placed on top of the led, with no lens.

My order from 6/2 shipped this morning. I believe that was the day 519a 2700K became available, and not only that but he was allowing people to essentially preorder the LEDs before he received them so I’m sure there was a backlog in addition to many new orders that day.

Thanks Royce .

Bold emphasis mine, the DW4 is 83g Vs acebeam 80g. It’s still an excellent light, but I’m slightly disappointed with how it feels as a headlamp (asymmetrical weight).

Edit to add: I can’t find a thread specifically on the DW4, does one exist?

Thanks for taking the time and sharing, djozz!!

excellent info, Djozz! I'm glad to see Simons sm575 batch looks good to (at or below BBL). Hanks batch (not sure if they're smxx5 or smxx3) already look awesome (I have dedomed 5700k in a dw4 dual channel)

For those like me who are waiting for an Hank order, be advised that his email system was off a few days ago, and it’s possible that your order is shipped without you receiving an email .

If you log into Hanks site, you can check your order status. It is pretty up to date and will also have the tracking number listed if it has been shipped.

A.small note. I got DW4 with 2700/4500K dual channel 519A. I have a few observations.

- The anodizing on the body tube is a bit disappoining. Speckled.bits of missing anodizing in the knurling. Very hard to capture in a picture but probably in a video it’s visible.

- I think the low mode is higher with 519. I have a dual channel 219B and the low mode is okay. The 519 seems a bit higher. Note, I have seen this in other lights I have modded with 519.

  • The light is surprisingly a lot longer than the D4v2. That’s a shame.

Otherwise, it is a nice light and will definitely have a spot in my reading rotation. Just a few disappointments.

I got lazy after more than 20 orders never having to check the order screen, only waiting for the email and only then starting to worry .

Are all boost drivers identical or do larger hosts, like D4SV2, allow for larger components to be used (for increased efficiency/superior performance)?
