Here in the US, gas and food prices continue to rise. Milk and gas were the same price per gallon recently. Simply staying home with the family often saves enough on gas to buy a new budget knife. It has everything to do with those in power. Speaking of offending people, Let’s Go Brandon!
I recently skipped a trip over the mountains and into a neighboring state to see my elderly mother. Besides the cost and other hassles, mainstream media still has her so wound up about COVID that she won’t see her kids and grand kids unless we all wear masks, despite being in perfect health and up to date on vaccines. I literally saved enough on gas to buy the Civivi Chevalier I modded and carried today.
More often than not I carry a Spyderco MANIX 2 GRAY FRCP MAXAMET
There is not a one of the many other knives in various steels that stays as sharp for as long.
I really need to pick up an RSK,
Hogue makes a great knife and I really like the Ritter blade shape. I Should probably sell off some stuff and just do it,
PF is very interesting to me. I love the one that I have, i got it for ~20$! (PF818 g10 + d2)
now all their models have been released in the 50$ price bracket… a few are still in the 35$ range.
I think i’ll stick with SRM knives. I picked up a new FRN version of their hit axis model.
SRM 9201-PL is the model number. they went with 8cr this time. it’s smooth and the handle is really light, but i prefer the d2 model with the beefier handle… it’s only a bit more, plus it’s got much better materials.
but for 20$, the SRM 9201-PL really was fun to try out, recommended for those keeping the budget tight
I have a laser goniometer, which measures the edge angle geometry and condition of a knife, but it is difficult to use it.
Is there some video showing the process please?
