FW3A replacement driver pcb

While trying to bend the wires on my 7+1+FET FW3A driver, the negative pad snapped off/out of the pcb. Is there a place to get a bare pcb and then move the parts over?

No, the 7+1+FET is not available anymore. You can only get the FET-only version. AFAIK even the Lume1 driver is not available due to unavailable parts. Maybe try to get a used FW3A?

There are some complete, new, 7+1 drivers available. JLHawaii has them in stock. I am looking for the bare PCB. $20 vs $4 I know, but I thought it would be fun to learn how to swap components from one pcb to another.

Negative pad must connect to something. Maybe take a sharp knife and scrape around where the negative pad use to be to see if you can expose the trace that connected to the negative pad. Then resolder the driver wire to that.

I’ll give that a try, might exceed my soldering skills. I was hoping the bare board was in oshpark somewhere.

Also, the trace for the negative bondpad connects to something. It would be easy to find out what if you have a multimeter and can access any of the remaining trace.

Perhaps it connects to a contact on the FET or MCU. If you can find out what it is supposed to connect to you can solder the driver wire to that instead of the trace. This should be a bit easier.

Lumintop is still selling lights with the 7+1 driver. Contact them asking to buy one.

Buy an FW3A in discount. Recently I found FET+7+1
