It’s a wall wart with a barrel connector…rubber flap for the port on the right side of the box. Manual states 110-240 input with DC 30V output, 24W. 0.8A consumption on the fan label. Apparently it will operate under wall wart power, too, which is nice.
Not sure if the cells are in series or parallel (30V adapter suggests series, which is kinda scary), but worst case, if there’s any issue with the cells, I can pull ’em and work directly off the adapter.
Gawd, what an annoying website, though. That coupon box (which dumps piles of 3rd-party cookies on you) that pops up Every Single Time was getting me on-edge to the point I was almost about to ditch the transaction entirely.
Still, looks like a solid fan. Goggled it on amazon, looks pretty nifty. I’m assuming 22hrs runtime is not going full-tilt, eh?
This is one of the images from the Walmart listing. First one I’ve seen with a good comparison for the size. Looks like the perfect size for what I need it for. Glad I bought one.
I wonder what type of cells it uses? I couldn’t find an answer online. From the reviews, it seems to run about 1.5 hours at the highest setting on a full charge and much longer at reduced power. I assume these are NOS (new old stock), so the cells could be quite old and no longer hold a full charge. I ordered one, so I guess I’ll find out soon enough.
A similar fan with good feedback would be at least $50 a piece, so if TaoTronics cancels my order, and I think they probably will, I'll just go without a nice rechargeable fan.
I’m at a loss as to why there’d be the offer, with code, and then everyone’s order gets canceled.
It was explicitly spelled out it’s 20bux per, so it’s not an “oops, wrong coupon, we’re gonna take a bath on these of we honor the price!” or anything like that.
I’m hoping Mr Tao comes back here and ’splains what’s going on, ’cause this kind of thing can permanently poison a company’s rep.
