【convoy】H4 and B35AM options are updated

yes, stainless steel button and bezel

I’ve just published a review of the Convoy S2+ with 519A emitters.

Nice review stephenk and interesting info on the strobe. :+1:

Seconding this suggestion :

  • The side by side design allows to make a compact multi cell light that isn’t too long or too thick thus it is more pocketable than 2S tube lights or 3P/4P soda can lights. That is if the head isn’t thicker than the body, or at least not significantly.
  • It can deliver a lot of power efficiently in 2S configuration with a 3Vout buck or 12Vout boost driver, covering all different LEDs. >4.5Vin offers many options for powerful and efficient buck converters and allows more power with a boost converter as well.
  • Same point about the LEDs, for example with 2 side by side B35As which when used alone aren’t super bright, or 2xXHP50.3/XHP70.3 HI for max raw output.
  • 2S configuration isn’t dangerous if inserted incorrectly unlike 3/4S, it will just not power on, I remember you mentioned safety concerns about the abandoned 3S 21700 7xXHP70 project.
  • It is a change from cylinder lights, which are very common and I believe the only shape offered by Convoy. I think it’s possible to make pretty slick designs with this shape if one is inspired enough.

An example of a flashlight in this format is the Klarus RS30BA (2x18650)

Regarding assembly, the head, body and tailcap are held together by a threaded rod and knurled nut.
Same assembly in the Frelux Synergy (2x14500) : Review: Frelux Synergy2 (2x14500/AA, LH351D 5000K, CRI90)

titanium t4 has dropped

Anyone else with an L21B experience the o-ring trying to come off with the tail cap?

Every time I unscrew the tailcap, it tries to pull the o-ring up and off with it.

Sucking it up into the threads and I have to be careful not to damage it.

Solution seems to be that I have to unscrew the head instead.

Heres a photo showing the tailcap starting to be unscrewed, and the o-ring is half out of its groove and being pulled up into the threads.

Yes.

@TIFisher Thanks.

I guess this is just normal for this light?

They’re just pretty thin guage o-rings. I have a bunch extra. Try unscrewing the cap 1/2 turn at a time, tightening back a hair each time. Good lube helps, too. I use Super Lube O-ring lubricant (liquid).

Thanks again for the suggestion and info.

Doesnt seem to fix the problem for me though, so i’ll just continue to open it from the other end.

I dont have any extra lube to put on it right now.

Will there be a titanium T3? What about a titanium 18350 tube for the S2+? Looking forward to both! The T4 is just too long to fit comfortably in my pockets.

Too big for me…

Waiting for S2+ and T3 :)))

Hey! When will the stonewashed T4 be back in stock on AliExpress?

Also, how different is 2700K from 3000K for this emitter? Any reason to choose one over the other?

All in production.

Stonewash T4 in production

Hi Simon, will there be a titanium T2? Or just the T3?

T2 have worst driver, and worst battery compatibility, than T3, and that is it.
Don't see any point in doing T2. I thought T2 is there just to sell out what was produced, and is not produced anymore, because the T3 is it fixed version.

Fantastic!

Does the T3 body thread into the T4 head? If so, I still may get a T4 because i find the head shape interesting.

Simon, any chance of offering the 519a in the 18350 S2+? I am pretty sure many people would want one.

No it doesn’t, I’ve asked Simon this question already as I wanted a T4 shorty.
