Awesome review and thanks for your efforts. Looks like the Boost driver increases sustained brightness by 100% at 10mins and by 50% after the 15 min step down.

Great review and photos…and physical measurements! Love the latter, always helps for mods and repairs. I like the slider-comparison photos in this one, too, those are neat, sometimes more helpful than side-by-side pics.

This, with 26800, has become one of my favorite lights. Debating now whether to order another with the boost driver, or see about getting the driver separately for a swap.

Your review seems to imply, at least for the D4SV2 that with the boost driver you can’t have a lit switch as you wrote:

This seems to suggest that only that driver is compatible with lit switch. Perhaps this is true for the D4SV2? Or are the drivers the same as for the D4V2? Just in case I asked Hank about it for the D4V2 as I had just ordered it with the new boost driver, and for which I requested a lit switch, and he said that all drivers can have a lit switch.

Edit: Got another email from Hank with the clarification that indeed for the D4SV2 not all drivers can have a lit switch, for the D4V2 all of them can be combined with a lit switch…

I would be interested to see a comparison between a boosted D4V2 against the boosted D4SV2 (same emitters and calibration), and boosted D4V2 against a Convoy S2+ (5A FET). I don’t ask for much!

Great question! I need to reword that for calcification. All D4SV2 drivers are compatible with the lit switch EXCEPT the stock FET+3+1 driver.

Grizzly, I am considering the D4SV2 in W2 or SST20 6500k. My question centers around the use of the boost driver for either of these LED’s. I read thru your review of the D4SV2 on your site, and you mentioned that the SST20 would be the runtime king using the boost driver. What would the max sustained output with either LED, or which one would hold turbo sustained(or could either of them hold turbo sustained)? Which one would hold the highest output the longest? I have a Zebralight SC700d and just don’t like the warmer tints(I know most people hate 6500K, but I prefer the whiter beam, over the yellowish beams). Basically, if Zebralight made another SC700 in cool white with different emitter options, I would buy it, as I really like the Zebralights. I only have one Noctigon, and that is the M43 Meteor in 5700 K at 7450 lumens, I forgot the emitter. I like that light, but I don’t like the runtimes as compared to the Zebralight, so I have my eye on a single cell light, D4SV2 for high output. I was actually considering getting both the W2 in FET driver and the SST20 with the Boost driver, and both with the 26800 body tube as well. Let me know your thoughts regarding the regulation with either LED as above. Thanks for your help :slight_smile:

With the boost driver, the heat and runtimes and sustained output will be virtually the same between those two LED’s I think. Neither will sustain Turbo. I tested W2’s with a boost driver in the review so read that for my testing.

I re read thru the review, and missed the slider with the run times for the boost driver. Thanks for the help.
