Emisar D4SV2 extra optic option?

Hi, I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Emisar D4SV2 but not sure about the extra optic option. What is it? The option says more floody beam. I'm thinking orange peel reflector but it says EXTRA. Is it something you can swap out or add on to the light?

I also have a couple battery questions. Will it take flat top batteries? What is the minimum amps I should be looking for without sacrificing max brightness? The choices I'm seeing range from 7 to 40 amps.

Here are the available options:

I'm also thinking it's an orange peel reflector.

I don't know for sure, but I don't know what else it could be.

There is no reflector in that flashlight, it’s a TIR optics. And you can order one with a more floody beam shape and swap it yourself.

Oops...

I guess I don't know what I'm talking about!

Stock optics have a narrower beam and more light throw. Additional optics have more flood light and less throw.

“Works with high drain unprotected 26650 cell under 69mm” ….from the noctigon webpage D4S V2 26650

somebody said it is like a frosted lense.

Thanks. Is it easily swappable on the fly? Or is it more involved than just unscrewing the bezel and swapping out the optics?

It is basically just a matter of unscrewing the bezel and swapping the optics, but it’s not something I’d advise doing “on the fly”
The optics are fragile, there’s a glass lens and o-ring, and you want to keep everything clean. While the optics are pretty easy to install at a bench, sometimes they don’t want to come out, and installing them wrong could damage something.

Thanks. Very good to know. No extra optics for me then.

Thanks. I think I'll be getting these: https://www.orbtronic.com/26650-battery-5750mah-30a-high-drain-imr-li-ion-flat-top

I found some with a higher capacity but they were only 15 amp batteries.
