Is it possible to add a +1 button?

Test 4.

Test 5.

Test 6. Looks like it’s working, see the Snip in the middle?

Total agreement with that

Damn, I was caught in the act of exaggeration
OK, but I think that it’s still too much.

Yes that’s possible.

I attempted to like the first post...

Maybe a comment rating system could be one-sided, like youtube. They show only upvotes.

OK, I can reduce it. Maybe to 3?

Yep, that’s what I’m thinking too. The technical implementation might be very challenging though, that’s why I haven’t definitively committed to implementing it yet.

How about a "x1" button?

That way you don't add one or subtract one--you can only multiply by one.

 We do have an x0 button though, it’s labelled Report. :innocent:

Is it possible to adjust the amount of padding given to quotes? Even those tiny quotes you nested take up tons of space relative to how much text is actually present.

Sorry for replying to the wrong post. Didn’t want to quote that gigantic nest haha

I don’t really want to become more like Reddit.

Please don’t turn this forum into yet another social media platform

You don’t need to please everyone for your opinion to be valid. It’s a flashlight forum where political discussions are not allowed.

I think you should read more of the thread before commenting.

+1

I think I have read enough of the thread to be able to comment.

And this is why I believe the +1 button shouldn’t exist, in this case either my comment or yours would receive more amount of +1’s, rendering one comment more valid than the other by popular opinion, and thus creating a somewhat harsh environment for the other user.

Do this repeatedly day after day and people will eventually stop posting about the not so interesting content, such as modding $10 flashlights instead of showing off a collection of their 35 different hank lights. They even had to create r/Hanklights to control the flood in r/flashlight.

Anyways, I do think there is place for a r/BudgetLights to exist, for those who don’t like the classic forum format.

So this would be an “anonymous” plus one system at the bottom of an individual response box? I guess you would get slightly more participation in some threads. I’m not sure how a few anonymous likes are going to be all that helpful though. I do sometimes look at them on YouTube videos but there you can see how many people watched the video and liked it and disliked it.

Youtube ditched the dislike button because propaganda / social engineering / demoralization vehicles were getting disliked into oblivion. You’re not supposed to know that the average person isn’t drinking the kool-aid.

Okay well the button is still there but yeah it looks like it doesn’t work. So it looks like it’s just an experiment and they are not entirely sure they want to get rid of it yet.
