Go to reviewers for power banks?

Looking around for a new power bank and thought someone might know a reliable source for power bank reviews.

I’ve heard good things about the Xtar PB2 and PB2S.

Mitsuki, in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia, Anker, Aukey, RAVPower are widely known as reliable brands of powerbanks. Cheaper but also popular brands are Ugreen and Baseus. Baseus has been promoting its new high-powered 100W 20000 mAh capacity slim powerbank which can power up large laptop notebook computers. But it costs about $$90, or US$65.

Highly recommended American brands of powerbanks are very expensive and may not be available outside of the USA.

One reminder: Be careful not to bring on any airliner a powerbank with more than 100W power.

Many tech experts have suggested that we don’t really need a powerbank with over 20000 mAh. Ideal powerbanks should be between 10000 and 20000 mAh, with around 35 - 65W, which is good enough to charge handphones, although it may not be strong enough to power up laptop notebook computers.

Yeah those are some that HKJ also has reviews of but I want something thinner

Yeah Anker and Aukey are one of my top choices as well just wondering if I’m missing out on other brands. Don’t really need high wattage. 18w should be fine. But no specs are set in stone. Just want to know what’s reliable out there.

Thanks for reminding me Baseus and Ugreen. I’ll give them a browse.

Baseus and Ugreen both have their official stores on Ali Express. They are reliable sellers with genuine original products and satisfactory after-sale services.

Smaller powerbanks with just 18W are easy to find and quite inexpensive. Both Anker and Aukey are reliable brands with nice designs. You need to check how long it will take to do a full-charge of any powerbank you plan to buy. If within one or two hours is fine. And whether or not it can do super-fast charging of newer handphones.

What are you planning to charge?

What is your budget?

How light/portable does it have to be?

Yeah I might just stick to those brands in the end. Thanks!

Just my phone really. $20-30 maybe but it’s flexible depending on the features. Long and thin or short but thick. Can’t really decide which is better of the two.

Interesting setup you have there. But I really can’t justify bringing a solar panel when travelling. I guess it could be used at home though.

How are the ports treating you through use? My old one is really loose and won’t keep contact with cables that’s why I’m looking around for one. I tried adding a shim to make it tighter and it works but it is already dated and for its size it only has 8000mah while newer models now have 10000mah for the same size.

Admin please delete if this isn’t allowed but I wanted to comment that the Nitecore NB20000 is a power bank that almost everyday we have multiple orders for. So I am assuming its a popular option that customers looking for a ultra power source rely on. We haven’t had any issues or returns. Hope that helps
