For a long while I would catch videos on the “SciShow” channel, pretty much keeping up on a regular basis… but then, I don’t know, just fell out of keeping up. There’s tons of videos that Hank Green has hosted and produced over the past 10 years. You can really go down rabbit holes watching them. Lots of fun when you’re bored and need a distraction. There’s few that I’d call duds. At one point, Hank couldn’t keep up with doing it alone, so he started with some alternate hosts. This one hipster dude he had as his first was very awkward and I didn’t take to him. I think that’s when I stopped. But then I came back later, as Hank started doing more again. The hipster dude got better, but I think he eventually moved on. There are some other alternates. But again, I just didn’t find myself drawn to the channel as much as I was in the early years.
V-Sauce is amazing. Michael Stevens has a very intense, animated persona and he’s quite brilliant. The show took off, but then Mike got fixated with monetizing and so much of the good content is no longer free. Ad revenue just wasn’t enough, unfortunately.
Lately though, I discovered Joe Scott and his “Answers with Joe” series. REALLY excellent content. His shows are so well produced and do some nice deep dives into fascinating subjects. You have to set aside a good bit of time as his shows typically run about 20 minutes, as opposed to 6 minutes for SciShow.

This is really cool. Thanks for sharing. Amazing how innovative is that soda can engineering. I wonder if this is the absolute pinnacle of perfection or if it has room for further optimization.
Okay so this might be “controversial” but I’ll post it anyway: I really like some/most of the documentaries of Vice, saw a really interesting piece on Cobalt mining recently for example. Sure sometimes it feels like there is a certain “agenda” in some of the videos but one just has to look through that
Technically not “learn something new”, unless you participate in these particular hobbies:
Luke Towan does absolute top-tier life-like dioramas and My Mechanics restores things with precision and finesse that would impress a Swedish watch maker.
