Ohh that’s way above my paygrade skill wise haha. I’ve tried to modify some lights, although successfully, it was a pain. I have a Texas Ace Narsil L6, a 70.2 converted BLF GT. I really want to change that 70.2 to a 70.3 HI. But I’m afraid to do a emitter reflow.
Reflowing usually becomes the simplest part once you get some practice. Just practice a little with something cheaper than xhp70. Feel free to contact me if you want some tips or just chat about flashlight modding.
I’m looking at mode specs for the T4, specifically the low-high max 50% group.
“sub-option 1.9 (normal-flash 9 times) : tap the switch to select mode group 9 (1%、10%、50%)”
Whereas on other biscotti-like 12/13 mode lights, this is the corresponding description:
“sub-option 1.8 (normal-flash 8 times) : tap the switch to select mode group 8(0.1, 1, 10, 50)”
The discrepancy in index is due to another mode being slipped in. But where is 0.1% mode? Is that removed from the t4?
Hi, do the lighted tailswitches work well with the s21a b35am driver and the 22mm xhp70 driver? I would probably upgrade the spring, but apart from that, is it compatible with those boost drivers?
When the S2+ with MAO will be sold, i want to get one with the 519a 4500k and de-dome it. I really like the beam profile of my S2+ with the 219b 4500k and the 60 degree TIR lens.
But i’ve read that the TIR lenses are not optimal for a de-domed 519a.
Hopefully with better aesthetics, the blocky design isn’t really my thing, and it must not feel really good in the hand either.
Thanks for you opinion, I agree that’s it’s simpler for charging with 2P configuration, and if 30~35W is enough then yeah a simple MP3431 boost driver will do.
Got the replacement (new model) buck driver for my S21D! Unfortunately my light was lost/stolen a little while ago, so I guess I’ll be keeping it for a future project of some kind.
I can’t find data about efficiency of T3 and T4 drivers (13 modes) for each battery type.
Simon wrote efficiency is >90% but I assume it’s for NiMH batteries?
Do they use linear regulators for 14500?
