I miraculously have 400ish dollars to spend!!! What should I buy?
I’m leaning on Fire Foxes FF5HD or Thrunite new catapult pro plus some Dawson Knives.
What would ya recommend? Can be something different than what I mentioned

Buy a Convoy S2+, a C8+, & a few batteries.
Spend the rest on Dried Beans & a Emergency Food Supply. Can’t ever tell when it might come in handy.
Get ammo to if you don“t have enough. Y’all should gave plenty of deer there in East TX… they’ll eat real good if it comes to that ever.

If you want a nice thrower like the FF I recommend starting with LED first. Thrunite TN42 V2 is nice, as is the Acebeam K75. If you want a smaller thrower, Acebeam K65GT is a nice one. The Catapult Pro is new, but should be a nice 1000 meter thrower. If you want to spend a bit less, the Convoy L80 or L21B are nice.
For a fun light, the FF is pretty cool too.
a bit ‘‘large’‘..

Too many options with $400.
I have a couple of BLF GT’s and already have L21B. I see not that many are showing love to the FF5. I just thought it be different , all I have are LED’s

he never mentioned ‘thrower’
i personally consider them useless!

If I had $400 to spend on new lights I would start by getting a Convoy L8, a Sofirn Q8 plus, bunch of fun S2+ configurations and and a couple of Wurkkos TS10 lights.
If you don’t have a good one already, get a good headlamp, my personal favourites are zebralights. Pair with a single cell throwy light(convoy C8+ maybe) both should cover most of your lighting needs.
Put rest in investments of whatever kind you fancy.
Don’t blow the whole lot on a massive $400 light, it’ll be impractical.
Imalent MR90. It is a flooder and thrower at the same time.
Not a EDC though, although it comes with carrying pouch.
After scratching the newb thrower itch with the Convoy L7 and the Astrolux WP3, along with the KR1 copper (W2), I felt like my SP36 wasn’t gonna kill in the flooder category. Then that cute MK38 came out followed with the MS12mini… but I couldn’t pull the trigger; love the active cooling idea. I just sensed that the cooling wouldn’t be enough. Thank god my refrigerator died and I had to wait because I think the best value for exactly $400 is the Acebeam X75. Just got it a couple days ago. It’s the winner, not for peak output. It can do that, but in an actual emergency, it can search a field (or light a warehouse) at 5000 lumens for almost 2 and a half hours. Add in powerbank feature and I was sold. Cheule just reviewed it and he seems to agree: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUA24xcMz1U
Then, you must join the flashlight of the month club and get the TS10, FT03S SFH55, S21D 519A, all the Hank lights, and dream of the next generation of actively cooled beasts.
Good luck!
Acebeam X75 looks interesting, however what are the run times? Does that review go in depth into times? I have 5 acres were a search light like that might come in handy

+1 but with what’s left AFTER the Thrunite Catapult Pro; just gotta scratch that itch.
On the light side.
Buying one reasonably priced light is fine.

I don't know exactly what you're looking for, but I like my Convoy S16 with SFT40.
It's my EDC so I use it at least a few times a day.

I ended up with the FF5 HD. I couldn’t help it. Never had a one of them before. I almost went with the X75 like someone recommended but the color I wanted was out of stock. I’ll post some pics once I get it.

Great flashlight too. This one can do 10k lumens 1Mcd candela right?
HID seems to be not so popular among flashlight community.
