Comparison between 800W65V and RD 1200W68V switching power supply
S-800-65 is NVVV 65V 800W power supply, and RD-1200-68 is RD 68V 1200W power supply. We will disassemble them and show you the difference.
Overall comparison: There are obvious jumper Wire on the 800W power supply, and it uses green single-sided circuit board, half bridge type topology, and the use of low-cost components make the PSU more affordable when the performance is ensured. The 1200W power supply uses a black double-sided circuit board, which has better soldering performance. It uses a 2-transistor forward topology structure, and the used components are more abundant and have a longer service life. This two power supplies are glued at the large capacitor and inductor positions to fix them, both can work at full load for a long time when testing performance, which is recommended.
Rectifier bridge: 800W PSU uses single rectifier bridge with heat sink, the heat dissipation is better and the working temperature will be lower. 1200W PSU use 2 rectifier bridges in parallel without heat sink, the over current performance is better and better impact resistance. Because the PSU does not have PFC circuit, the peak current of the rectifier bridge is relatively higher, it needs higher impact resistance.
Input main filter capacitors:800W PSU uses 2 PCS 200V1000uF,1200W PSU uses 2 PCS 200V1500uF, the higher of the output power, the bigger input capacitors required. The peak voltage after rectification of 220V AC voltage is 311V,so 2 PCS 200V capacitors connected in series is enough
