Great info and links for anyone seeking a Tutorial on how to reflash Anduril 2 onto a TS10 and SP10 Pro. Also works for reflashing SC21 Pro… with the proper Hex files from gchart, for each specific light.

The flashing instructions seem overly complex, you should be able to use the phone app ZFlasher AVR right?

No, it’s not compatible yet.

With AVRDUDESS GUI for AVRDUDE it’s pretty simple (on windows, I don’t know about the others), the only additional step compared to Zflasher (which as SammysHP pointed out, doesn’t support serialUDPI programmer yet) is to look up the COM port in the device manager.

Edit : I see that Tactical Grizzly linked to pymcuprog instruction, indeed it is more complex. Use AVRDUDE (command line) or AVRDUDESS (graphic interface) instead.

Hi Wurkkos. I want to order the silver version of TS10. When will it be available? And also I want to know if the bugs in the firmware have already been fixed?

And also a question about the color of the inscriptions on the silver case. On promo materials, the color of the text looks golden, but on real photos the color is white :frowning:

I am also waiting for the Red and the Silver of this Wurkkos model to come out again. :+1:

And it’s also the first time MAO version we have try.
If there are any shortcomings or nice suggestions, please let me know. We will try our best to realize it.

I believe Gchart has already suggested adding an 1800-4700ohm resistor in series with the auxiliary LED’s. Please take his advice and do that. The aux LED’s are too dim on low mode but they are WAY too bright on high mode and will drain the battery in 3 days. With this resistor added, they should be a much more reasonable brightness level and should last much longer.

Nice little light arrived 12½ days after ordering.
The date on the driver is 20220609, so I guess it’s still the original driver.

I agree my Red Aux are very dim on low. I cannot see them during the day (unless I cup the light in my hands and hold it up to my eyeballs). I hardly even see the red aux in the evening, when my house lights are on. Otoh red aux on low are brighter than tritiums, and very nice for locating the light on my nightstand. Imo the red aux on low are perfect for me, to find the light when I wake in the dark.

So, part of the issue is what the Operator expects. If they want to see Aux during the day, the low Red will not work. Tritium also cannot be seen during the day.

otoh, I just received a TS10 w Blue Aux. They are at least 4x brighter than red, on low. I can easily see the blue aux during the day. For me, they are Too Bright for my nightstand. They are even bright enough to see my feet, and the walls, to walk thru my house in the dark. otoh w the Red aux I cannot see my feet, and cannot use them to see the walls and walk thru the house in the dark.

So, not only is it a matter of expectations, there are large variations between the Aux colors.

I agree the High aux are Too bright for both Red and Blue, because they kill the battery in just a few days.

plus the hex file gchart provided has 10x lower lows, which for me is a Great Upgrade.

Hopefully the next batch will incorporate the new firmware fixes for Aux and lower low modes.

I set the aux lights on high then untwist the head when it’s not in my pocket.

what about when it IS in your pocket?

fwiw, and imho, untwisting the head is a Bad idea because IF the button gets pressed, the light goes into factory reset, and all my personal preferences (floor, ceiling, etc) get lost.

and for me, the Aux are useful for locating the light on the nightstand, so untwisting the head when its not in my pocket would not be helpful.

For me (with orange aux) the current low mode is perfect for locating the light on my nightstand/shelf/etc. It is bright enough to see in the dark, without being distracting. With a long battery life.

High aux I currently don’t have a practical use for. It looks cool; that’s about it. If they make it dimmer, I will still not have a practical use for it. Because 4x or 5x dimmer will still be too bright for locator beacon, and the battery life will be still too short. So I don’t really care if they change it or not.

In the future I hope there is a TS10 Pro with efficient driver and RGB aux. I would pay more. If there is RGB aux then I might have stronger opinions on how bright it should be, since RGB aux has some more practical uses other than just locator beacon.

It’s a nice mod but it has no Anduril RGB functions, the LEDs were replaced with ones that automatically cycle between colors.

I would also prefer it had RGB, I really like seeing the battery level on my flashlights without having to do a clic sequence and count the flashes.
Technically the driver just needs two more pads, wires could be thinner enamelled ones instead of silicone for easier wiring, but keeping the aux LEDs on the MCPCB won’t be possible, it’ll need a second PCB for them, I don’t know if there is enough space with the optics ?

I’d solder the RGB aux LEDs directly onto a flat flex PCB with integrated flat flex cable that can be connected to the driver PCB (maybe make it longer and fold it several times after soldering). Similar techniques are already used by other flashlight manufacturers, for example Nitecore TINI tear down + emitter swap

That’s a great idea, the 4 mm hole should be good enough for fiting the flex flat cable between the LED wires.
