Cheap XML light first mod need advice :)

Yo, got these eBay lights that are underperformance plenty of room to run harder heatwise.

They run directly off 52V battery with 15Ah capable of 40Amps so power is not an issue.

All the circtury seems to be forward facing and there’s no other way to open this light up.

It has three modes but no mode switch so turns on in a random mode.

I want to increase power and only have a single constant on mode.

Is there a way to bypass the regulation circuitry that provides power and just have these proform direct drive at max power? Or at least improve them a bit.

They are bike lights so get plenty of airflow for cooling.

What’s the easiest way to push these harder.

Iv never modded before have no idea whare to start.

You can mod the light but it might not be worth it, you would need a new driver and LED’s and then you have to make them fit with what ever optics/ reflector it is using. What kind of switch is it using? How many volts are coming into the driver 52v? how many volts are the LED’s getting?

I am guessing this is an E bike/ scooter?

Yup ebike / motorbike add on light from eBay.

Was hoping to just stack some chips on top of each other or something like they do on some of the cheap convoy lights looks like it won’t be that simple.

I’m not sure what the LEDs and driver get I just know it’s 12-80v in from main battery.

Looks like it won’t be worth it then.

You could take a voltage Regulator and some 7135. Not sure what the LEDs are, 3W? 17 x 7135.

Thanks for joining the gang, AnthonyM2022!

Thanks guys. Ran an in-line switch on the lights which enabled me to syn both to the same mode they were drawing power from ebike controller and getting confused on shutdown so started up Inna random mode. Simple switch allowed me to change modes now.

Don’t think worth modding seem to be ok on high setting now tbh.

Gonna keep an eye ou on this forum tho see if I cants find anything more powerfull that takes HV from a battery.
