Weltool New products 2022

That's 3 through holes, showing 6 eyelets. These holes are located within the platform below the MCPCB

Yes, I was talking about a simple red-orange-green or at least red-green solution. Not flashing the LED itself.

I’m looking forward to seeing your T2R.

Thanks, https://1lumen.com/review/weltool-t2r/

Probably can't tailstand, I see no provision for attaching a lanyard. An otherwise interesting light seriously compromised by those missing features.

T8 Plus knurling pattern is superb!

Thanks

The T2 is positioned as an EDC, yet it comes with a tail switch. No tail stand? Come on… This is not how I use a EDC. For me, that alone makes it a pass.

The reason for the missing battery indicator seems obvious to me: The light works with either a single 18650 (3.7V nominal) or dual CR123s (6V nominal) or (presumably) dual 18350s (7.4V nominal). While it is easy to tell a 1 cell setup from a 2 cell setup, (< 4.4V = 1 cell, >= 4.4V = 2 cells), the useable voltage range of 2xCR123 and 2x18350 overlaps, so there is no bullet proof way to differentiate between those two scenarios.

I think, the design decisions that were made here, are not a good tradeoff for an EDC. Forget about 2 CR123s, add battery indicator, use side switch instead of tail switch, offer a selection of high CRI LEDs - that would make it a viable EDC.

That's our F2R, and each product has a different audience. Different products meet different needs.

Hmmm - I cannot find a F2R - tried Weltool and Google. Can you please provide a link?

I though EDC was carrying stuff in your pocket, not tail standing on a shelf?

F2R has not released yet

Now I know what I have been doing wrong all these years! I thought we would actually use this stuff. I was so stupid, I even put batteries in my EDCs. Now that you explained to us what EDC actually means, I will leave the batteries out, save money, carry less weight, and not worry about useability any more. Thank you so much!

another valid point - there’s nothing to stop the button being depressed if you’re going to carry it in your pocket, or elsewhere. A guard that is also a tail stand would make this much less of a problem, for pocket carry (or carry elsewhere)

I like the look of the T8 Plus; it has the protruding switch too though

The cooling system looks interesting - nice to see a new design element for cooling. I see that the light is splashproof; is water able to get inside through those cooling holes?

I’ve linked the image below from rizky_p’s review of the convoy S21D. It provides some protection to the button and doubles as a tailstand (albeit minus the lanyard). It still looks easily accessible too (even with gloves)

Water can enter that through hole, but not inside the flashlight

Thanks. I thought that; I’m guessing there’s a sleeve in there.

If I’m tail standing one of my lights, it’s because it’s in use. If I have it just sitting on a shelf not being used, its standing on its head, to keep dust from getting on the lens.

Does the body of this light fits the LH8 head (used on W65B, W65C weapons light series)?
