You’ll have to wait and see lol, bit of a Star wars fan, moreso Stormtroopers lol, this MAO basically white…… I’ll see when it arrives.
Maybe something in this kind of style, but with more Stormtrooper helmet colours/accents
Thanks for the update, bought one right away.
It is nice to hear about the challenges in the manufacturing process. Would love to see more about the micro-arc oxidation process, how it works and the challenges it presents.
Does anyone know about a good video on it?
I didn’t even see that part…. hope its ok lol. I just saw MAO available now in the title, didn’t know of flaws at that point. Maybe it refers to the ‘Wurkkos’ brand name which appears from the photo’s not to have gone on very well.
After anodization some parts get a second run in the mill (for example threads). If you are not careful the anodization might get damaged (clamping, coolant, chips). The white and rough anodization makes this even harder.
I expect MAO to be much thicker and deeper than normal anodization. But maybe the manufacturer hasn’t correctly parametrized the process.
I know there have been reports of frying the emitters with high discharge cells, but the TS10 is smoking on turbo with stock emitters and the included Wurkkos cell.
This might not fry the emitters immediately but can shorten their lifespan. If you have this light, go easy on turbo if your battery is fully charged.
There may also be contamination on the LEDs, always clean with isopropyl alcohol after mounting/soldering. In addition, the optics press the MCPCB down to the heatsink, so it should be run at low level at most without it.
