Review: Wurkkos TS10 w 5500K LEDs and Red Aux

Off is when the Aux light is on, right? I’m starting from stock and haven’t changed any settings yet

Fresh from the box, the aux light is on ‘high’. In fact, the aux lights are always on ‘on’ unless you 7C it to ‘off’ or ‘blinking’.

Off is when the emitters are not ‘on’ — therefore the aux will be more prominent even at ‘low’

Hopefully that wasn’t confusing….

Just finished reading the manual thoroughly and I think I understand it now.

I’m just confused since after I turned off the aux, the battery check now only show the battery once. Before turning it off, the battery check was showing continuously showing until I click it once to turn if off. Now, it just shows the battery once and then turns off on its own

That’s because you’re in simple ui. Multiple flash is advanced ui(10h)

So that really is how the battery check is supposed to work when in Simple UI?

received new Red TS10 4000K w Red Aux, ordered from Wurkkos.com 15 days ago.

.

Factory defaults as received:
Aux are set to Bright when Off
turns On at 90 lumens in Advanced Ramping mode
mode memory timer is ON
floor is 0.01 lumens
Aux turn Off when Main LEDs turn on
(this is the new gchart firmware, installed by Wurkkos)

Although the firmware does not need reflashing to solve the Aux bugs anymore… I have a backup TS10 hex file with all my personal eeprom preferences saved:

Aux on Low when off
turn on in Advanced ramping
ramping speed option 2 (slower)
10 lumen manual memory
10 minute temporary memory
simple and advanced ramping floors at 1/150 = 0.01 lumens
simple and advanced ramping ceilings at 110/150 = 250 lumens
1H from off gives floor, no automatic ramping
2C gives ceiling, no Turbo
thermal limit set to 50C
—————

so I reflashed just to change all the defaults to my preferences, without having to set each change by hand

The TS10 is by far my favorite 14500 light… I change the pocket clip to an EDC05 clip:

.

And I replace the factory grease w Nyogel 760G, it glows blue under UV:
.
I get it from Oveready, it is what they use on their Titanium lights… it is excellent stuff, makes the threads very smooth

I also ordered some spare Titanium FWAA Bezels… they are a direct swap onto the TS10… Im waiting for a Black TS10 to arrive, so I can swap the bezel
.

Has anyone measured the current for aux lights on low and high?

yes https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/vd0kpy/wurkkos_ts10_bug_has_been_fixed_the_aux_leds_no/

Here are my measurements:
Red on low: 0.139mA
Red on high: 12.951mA
Cyan on low: 0.102mA
Cyan on high: 7.579mA

I used a battery with 4.04V and Aneng AN870 multimeter.

It seems red leds draw significantly more current at high.

very helpful, thank you for adding data for more LED colors

Red on low: 0.139mA = about 9 months
Red on high: 12.951mA = about 3 days

fwiw, I just intentionally drained the TS10 battery, and I Confirm that when it goes below 3.0V, the Aux lights turn OFF. This light has the updated firmware.

When I turn on the main LEDs, they step down to 0.5 lumens, and then also turn off. The battery reads 2.8V on my DMM.

The voltage check w 3C on the light itself reads 2.6 Volts, and then stops repeating. iow, there is not enough power for the in light volt meter to repeat the readings the way it normally does, since the light is in Advanced mode.

this is excellent LVP for both the Aux and Main LEDs

:+1:
Great info, THX.
But I have to say, even with a few shortcomings, the two that I have with the original configuration have not caused me any problems in use.
The stock low is fine for me, and I turn off the AUX leds… So there is that.
I do have a MAO version on its way. It should have the new firmware, so I can compare and decide if I really need to reflash the original two. I did get an adapter, just in case.

I didn’t know that, thanks. Excellent way to see how much i’ve applied.

you gain lower lows with the update

the lowest mode has about 600 Hz PWM… easily seen by waving the light (but not visible in actual use… Malkoff uses about 300 Hz PWM, says “most people” dont notice…):
.
Level 1 PWM makes me laugh when I see the dots so clearly…
level 2 is near 3 kHz, above which it is difficult to see PWM (the pics are enlarged to show the faint pattern the camera captures)

yes, quite useful, enjoy!

Thanks!

FWAA Titanium Bezel
.
only adds 1 gram, feels sooo nice in hand
.
Just an AuxStanding little light

Is the head glued?

Yes.

I put boiling water in a cup, and dip the tip of the bezel in the hot water for a few seconds. This makes the blue loctite soft, so unscrewing the bezel is easier.

Ti bezel looks nice. Are they available anywhere. I found an Ebay listing, but it indicates that it is out of stock. I have a black TS10 that it would look good on.
Btw, I got my MAO TS10 today. I like it. I got a clip (EDC05) on it without scratching it. I guess we will see how durable the finish ends up being over time.

thanks, Congrats on your MAO, and scratchless clip install… I keep meaning to bring home a couple of straws…

> Are they available anywhere

I got the bezel from lumintoplighting, they only had stonewashed

Will check Lumintop.

EDIT: They don’t have a listing for the Ti FWAA bezel right now. Unfortunately.

I have some heat shrink tubing of the right size. I will need to try that at some point. It will stay put better than a straw. I am just a bit concerned about how it will affect the fit of the clip.
I may need something with thinner walls than what I have.
