Low CRI but visually appealing LED's

Tint seems to be mostly discussed involving the high CRI emitters but what are everyones favorite low CRI, high efficiency emitters? Looking for the most pleasant, uniform whites.

Interesting question, in my experience optics can affect visual perception. not just type, but material, and manufacturing process,   the best looking low cri tint i have is d18, with 6500k sst20 with tir lenses.  but no guarantee it will look the same with other lenses, or reflectors

I had some Luxeon V 4000k emitters that were fairly low cri but with a lovely tint and great output. The V2 emitters were very disappointing in comparison.

XP-L HI 5D looks great. Sometimes I don’t even notice the low CRI because the tint is that good.

Very interesting! A while ago I got a bunch of Luxeon V2s because I've heard that the V's had great tint and thought to myself, the V2 has got to be an upgrade or something. Once I got them in an S2+ triple, I was so underwhelmed...yellow tint, terrible angular tint shift, and noticeably lower CRI than 70CRI XPL HI's.

Tint-wise, so far some of the best low-CRI emitters I've seen are XPL-HI's. At 5000K CCT, they look way better than LH351D even though the latter is rated 90CRI. The tint is so green and reds are so pale that the XPL-HI more than makes up for the CRI difference with better tint.

Although antiquated, the MT-G2 has even better tint than XPL-HI...despite being a domed emitter, the angular tint shift is less than some domeless emitters. And the tint is just pure creaminess.

I found that XHP70.3HI 6500K 80CRI is one of the best Cree’s i saw lately.

No hint of ugly yellow corona and right on BBL if not lower

The LH351D looks good at CRI70 (Armytek Elf C1 White light).

I definitely second this!
I have a Solarforce K3 with the MT-G2 emitter, which has a simply great tint! Thumbs Up

Third for the MTG2. It’s older now and I have no idea what it’s CRI is but it’s still one of my favorite LEDs. I’ve got dozens of lights, but the light sitting by my back door is an old Fenix TK35UE with the MTG2.

The 5000k SST-40 in one of my Sofirn SC31 Pro was an amazing creamy white, the other looked like dog excrement.

XPL Hi 4000K in 5D and 5A2 tint bins looks fairly nice. Packs punch and below the BBL. Also can run direct drive on a single 18650 (unlike a dedomed Nichia 519a).

I’ve also gotten good use out of random cool-white XPL Hi, by installing them in triples with two dedomed 4000K Nichia 519a. The Nichias provide the CRI and R9, while the XPL-Hi provides a cooler tint and further lowers the DUV.

My Lumintop FW3A with 5000K XP-L HI 80+ CRI LEDs are very neutral even compared side-by-side with negative DUV LEDs like 219Bs. They are just plain white, neither green or rosy. But despite the impressive lumens, the lower CRI is very noticeable to me and thus the flashlight doesn’t get used that much.

I’d rather use my flashlight around the house than turn on the lights.

The creamy white goodness of the MT-G2.

Also, the 4C X[MP]-L behind a TIR lens is a grrrreat color/tint.

Another one:
A P60-dropin made for me by bushwhacked with an XP-G2 R4 in tint 5A2.
This is one of the most appealing tints to my eyes, on par with Nichia&Co.

Agreed on all the XPL HI votes, great emitter in several bins, IMHO.

XPL HI for me! Love the 5A tints on the warmer end and the 3A tints on the cooler end.
Never did find the XPL HI in a 4A or 4D tint.

For me, the only reason not to use an XPL HI is if I want higher CRI.
