Kickstarter's silly innovations for lame crowd

All real useful innovations are patented by big companys and don’t need any crowdfunding ;))

It’s extremely gimmicky in the current form. If you lost the head or “spark” it’s basically useless. Maybe If they offered included mulitple heads with different emitters and tint configurations like red light, uv, and high cri etc I could see this being worth the money especially it needs to have a replaceable battery too.

Wouldn’t buy it. Apparently enough people like it to invest. I wonder if any are members here

Lmao. meh, lame idea, i've yet to see successful all in one anything, i've seen tools, with interchangeable attachments, guns with few separate barrels\slides. none really took off, it is juts a bad idea in reality.

another thing is the whole idea of crowdfunding, if you think you have a good product with great potential, why not find an investor? cuz investor will ask questions and will want to have some control over what you are doing, with kickstarter all you need is a good presentation, and suckers will fall for it, give you money with no questions asked. you do not really need to make or develop anything, just make an illusion, it is ideal platform for scams.

Well, then tell us what Crypto really is?
Can’t see it, have to keep it in imaginary Box/Storage and pay money to buy or sell it.
Sounds like suckers paradise to me, but what do I know, I’m just a working man.

Loving the Snake oil crash.
Looks like the Faceplant Winklevoss Twins are sucked into the damage too.

NOt exactly sure, but i know for a fact if you want to buy something on a dark web you need it, they do not take cc or paypal

Another one

LOL at the thread title.

Ah, crowdfunding sites. Once the realm of The Ultimate Idea Man™ (where the pitch was the product), the nasty habit of others - oftentimes their own suppliers - to scoop dreamy-eyed kids lacking critical areas of wherewithal necessary to actually consummate the subject of their self-promotion has at least encouraged delivery. Unfortunately the formula has been little altered: >50% pitch, 35% prototype development, <15% execution.

On the buyer side, I suspect they’ve tapped into the same demo that has fond memories of camping out in line for the latest iProduct where an act of routine consumption is transformed into being told they’re special and innovative and other variants of the the pabulum that Madison Avenue has been feeding the youth market for going on a century. I’ve seen dozens of products pitched on crowdfunding sites as earth-shattering in their novelty that … have existed for a long time … and can be bought now, for less, with superior performance. Or it’s something that’s been shamelessly badge-engineered off of the likes of alibaba at 400% markup.

Wow…another one: 3,600 lumens for 4 hours? That’s 30 Watt at 120lumens/Watt x 4h => 120 Wh.
In front of me is an Olight ORB-186P34 3,400mAh battery. The small print says that equals 12.2 Wh.
Tell you the truth: it is an achievement to cram more than nine 18650 batteries in such an elegant housing.

Maybe he picked that up watching “Harry Potter” movies. Out of a handbag comes a tent, the size of a big doghouse. Inside that tent is ample space for a whole platoon, with separate bedrooms.

1 Thank

Clearly that flashlight is “bigger on the inside.” Time-Lord technology confirmed

1 Thank

Magic light show. :joy:

LUMOS

… and another few:
1.Adaptev
2. Glowstone

I actually think the Glowstone “flare” model is worth getting, I’m backing one.
reasons:
2000 Lumen mule.
Red green and UV leds.
Tint ramping 2600K-7000K.
95CRI.
controlled by app.
No ports for water/dirt to get in and is IP69K, the highest rating - claiming it can can go down to 40 meters.
Also looks ruggard as someone is throwing the light against a brick wall.
Housed in a Stainless Steel body with a silicon cover.
Charges wirelessly and can be used as a wireless power bank with 10.5Ah battery.

$87,538 pledged already?

It never ceases to amaze me the absolute drek people will put their money into.

Cool , waiting for real life XP review  Specially for that throw to the wall test

Well the guy has done 2 or 3 successful campaigns before and people are happy with them, the standard smaller Glowstone is available as of now on their website.
Calling me a drek is a bit unfair, I have been buying and collecting lights for 40 years and when you have pretty much all the lights you want and way more than I need - then I am happy to take a few risk$ Vs rewards.
But no I won’t be throwing it against the wall   :+1:

Even if I thought the Glowstone sounded like something I would use, this picture alone would be enough for me to shun it:
