Where to find thinner DuPont cables for the flashing holes?
hey hank, is the SWITCH RETAINING RING in the D4K Ti screw in, and only one height? From that picture I can't tell if it flat, or raised.

Hi, yes, it’s screwed in, the switch is a bit recessed in the head.
Hi Hank,
Is it possible to buy an aluminium D4K with a threaded switch retaining ring like the D4KTi has?
EMISAR D4KTI COLORFUL is here, but hank, we really need a high resolution close up for each finish.

Holy shit even the switch retaining rings are anodised!

I believe, it's not a anodisation, but fiber laser.
Colors are nice but you can’t beat brass or copper.
Re: D4KTI
Since titanium has worse thermal heat dissipation than aluminum, would it make more sense to add the boost driver here?
I bought the aluminum D4K with the boost driver add-on. Compared to the FET driver, the maximum output is lower. On the other hand, the output is better regulated. Is there any chance to increase the maximum current? I think someone mentioned 2A per LED as the default current.

Hey Hank, the D4KTI colorful D. Circuit have some markings on the copper head. It that also done by laser? Can you color the copper head too?
Does anybody know what kind of sustained output a KR1 gets with 70.3 HI? And has anybody been able to measure the duv of theirs?
Those are gorgeous, especially the crackle! Do you have higher resolution photos to share, Hank?
It depends of the colour and Cri of the 70.3 Hi LED … i measured the Lumen of my D1v2 (almost same like KR1 but with sideswitch) in the first second in Turbo as follows:
D1 | XHP70.3 Hi 70Cri | 3000k | 3230 |
D1 | XHP70.3 Hi 90Cri | 4000k | 2380 |
D1 | XHP70.3 Hi 90Cri | 5000k | 2560 |
D1 | GT FC40 | 3000k | 2080 |
D1 | SBT90.2 | 5700k | 5320 |
D1 | B35AM | 3500k | 1120 |
D1 | 519A dd | 3500k | 900 |
LG LitN
Thanks for the measurements, pretty good results
Do you currently work on something new Hank? Any news about the 14500 flashlight? And do you consider doing a D1SV2 with 21700 tube in the future?

This is very cool, some of the best designs I have seen in TI before. Congratulations!
Hi Hank!
Could you please tell me, do you plan to update your boost driver? I really want to have increased efficiency and not cut off turbo mode at the same time. Maybe boost + Fet or a new inductor?
To be honest when I heard about the new d4k development I expected you to modify the body enough to accommodate a larger inductor and give more than 2Amps per LED.
In addition, Jack firefly will soon release new flashlights with the updated Lume X1 driver which looks very promising.
You may also heard about the development of a new driver from thefreeman. Maybe you plan to take some ideas from these projects or already in the process of developing an updated driver?
Please share your plans on this topic, for me personally, it’s much more interesting than the new battery sizes and case colors.
Thank you!

What about after they settle? Say about 10-20 minutes in?
