Funny!

Ashcroft 2

Thanks for that memory Bonham. I loved Dolly Partons version of “I will always love you”. Which she had written about her romance with the late singer Porter Wagner. Then Whitney did a version of Dolly’s song. Wow. Both are so good…different, but great. Love them both.

This is about Randy Rhodes. Most of us likely never heard of the guy. He played guitar for Quiet Riot when he was 16 years old, and later was hired by Ozzy Osborne after Ozzy had been kicked out of Black Sabbath. The top comment on this vid that got stickied says it all.

“Randy Rhoads was quite possibly the best composer & musician that I have ever met in my life. He came into my life like a bolt of lightning and as such he was gone again. I consider my self one of the luckiest men alive to have not only met him but also I had the great honor of being able to work with him. I will cherish the time I spent with him till the day I die LONG LIVE RANDY RHOADS. LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL. I LOVE YOU ALL. - OZZY OSBOURNE”

Sadly, Rhodes, who would often stay sober and practice his craft while the other band members were partying and getting slouched, died when he was only 25. Not due to the typical rock and roll lifestyle like asphyxiating on his own vomit in the back seat of a car like the great singer Bon Scott. No, he was simply a passenger in a light plane piloted by a guy fucking around. Buzzing the tour bus where Ozzy and the bass player were still sleeping, the pilot clipped the bus with a wing and took it into a house where it flamed up. Rhodes was I’d by his jewelry.

Ozzy couldn’t believe how talented Rhodes was, and this vid shows that amazement. This video gives you a feel for the musician that Rhodes was.

Thanks for this gem. Yeah, when Ozzy looks at you dumbfounded because of your guitar playing, you know you are doing it right. If you haven’t seen the documentary yet, you should. It’s on Amazon Prime Video.

Maybe the Admin can explain why a well-visited topic went into oblivion… :wink:
He also has a commitment to the users who trust his forum!
Deleting user posts for no reason repels…

There are two such music threads and the other one has been getting the posts lately.

Thanks, but my above post is not related to other such topics.

It’s not good when you see that something you thought about and wrote has disappeared.

@Hoop
Just ideas and memories in the thread…

I recently discovered “Lebannon Hanover”, a goth band. “Kiev” and “Gallowdance” are worth a listen, some of the other songs I don’t much care for.

I also fulfilled a dream and saw the Christmas show by Trans-Siberian Orchestra- the light show was unbelievable and the rest was absolutely great. You gotta see them, it’s worth twice the cost of admission.
