Thanks for the opportuinty to take part in your GAW. I have used a great number of Samsung 30Q’s and that makes tham a favorite of mine. They do what I have asked of them and the oldest are still performing well in a couple of LT1 lanterns.
Thanks so much for asking, and for the GAW opportunity!
I was turned on to the Molicel P26A a few years ago, for 18650 high-power flashlights, and it has been my favorite since. I use them primarily in my Emisar and Fireflies flashlights.
I have different favorites depending on battery size.
My favorite for in AA is the tenavolt 1.5V lithium rechargeables. In 18650 my favorite is Sanyo NCR18650GA, good balance of high discharge and capacity,
I’m relatively new to the scene. Started out with 18650 in a couple of multi-cell lights….now have a 21700 Fireflies E12R coming on the slow boat from China, with some Samsung 40T. Seems 21700 is a sweet spot for size vs. power, will see.
The addiction is starting…have a feeling gonna need all the sizes!
No specific battery brand, but the 18650 batteries. Lights designed around it are just thin enough for me to edc pretty easily while having an big edge up vs smaller sizes for my needed runtime/brightness.
I don’t have any serious need for power besides walking the dog at night or otherwise 21700 on paper is such a good size vs capacity balance.
Edit: Finally got my hands on an external charger after partner got me a light without built in charging haha. For my casual use case, I bought some Sanyo NCR18650GA. Also picked up some Vapcell h10 which are a very nice balance imo for 14500 of discharge and capacity.
