Shame, I would like to order these lights too. Hope Safari is wrong and you guys get your lights ok

ask them to locate another viable shipping option? I made a purchase and they came back with a median and El cheapo shipping option…as long as it includes registered mail and tracking…

Same exact price to ship to U.S. as Australia, does that sound legit?

“Thanks kindly for your order from our powerwholesale.net.

The cheapest shipping cost is US$ 10.25 shipping by HongKong Post (2-4 weeks.)

So total payment is $10.35+$18.45 = $28.8.

Payment Term: Paypal.

Paypal Address:

Please kindly let me know if eveything is OK for you, just let me know after your payment done, then we’ll arrange the goods for you soon.

Best Regards,

Jone”

BTW this light must be 3 led’s in parallel and will run on 1 18650. Therefore I would conclude that is must be VERY under driven because the current limit on protected 18650s’ is 3.5 amps

wut

Most of them trip protection at 8A+ (RediLast, Intl-Outdoors, Xtar, AW), some at 6A (Eagletac), but I haven’t seen any high-quality ones that trip at less than 6A.

Ok, just got my invoice for two triple XML lights (SR 856 and SR WF-666) shipped to US (below).

cost of lights =$53.13

shipping = $17.90

pp fees = $2.84

total = $73.87

Works out to be $36.93 for each light, which would normally cost >$100 if ordered elsewhere.

So now the decision....should I pull the trigger????

IMHO a parallel LED arrangement would be the logical choice. A parallel arrangement would more closely match Vin from a single cell, 3S = 9-10Vf, 3P = 3.2Vf. So a less complex driver circuit could be used in a 3P setup. Also, 18650 cells (and their protection circuits) can easily exceed 3.5A too (FWIW).

How hard the emitters are driven is anyones guess. My experience is 18650 cells get unstable at currents greater than ~5.5-6A for 3-4 minutes. Mine get SCORCHING hot under such conditions, and I generally get an uneasy feeling when they near the ~1.5C mark. So hopefully the lights designers kept this in mind.

I have had this light in my cart for a month… not going to pull the trigger just yet though. I just can’t get past that hideous gold color YUK!! I’d snag one in a heartbeat if it were gray or black

Shadowww, you are right on that, I always thought it was 3.5, I don’t know where I picked THAT up from.

Anyway, I would stay away from this vendor. There is a good chance there will be problems.

That was the case 3-4 years ago, where 18650 protection circuits capped off around 3-3.5A. Today however thats no longer the case (thankfully).

*Just for info, a lot of sites rates sites like for example dealextreme, dinodirect, shenzhen-wholesale and many other sites such as these as untrustworthy. But they are not from the experiences here in BLF. Definitely there would be issues/mix-ups experienced before, but they are not scammers.

Powerwholesale net is the same coy as bestinone, i think the main one is sz-eyoung. If you search this site it is where lots of us get our generic IMR cells. Same ones as shao.fu.tzer is selling in CPF marketplace.

Lots of people here have done biz with bestinone before. 1 of my packets took 29 days though, but that’s with the problem with CPAM.*

Anyway, ergotelis ( Greece) and eudardo (USA I think) just got their 2 units of Trustfire X100 2 weeks ago and reported on the 3300 lumens OTF findings, both within 3 working days. Purchased from this site via DHL.

Well, that is good new. I was not trying to be a panic merchant, just passing on the warning I got. I wish everyone well in their purchases

No problem at all pretzy.

BTW I made a mistake and I’d like to clarify that shenzhen-wholesale and szwholesale are 100% not related, and szwholesale is the source for the XTAR cells and not shenzhen-wholesale which is another business entity. I have edited the above.

Very tempting but I don't want to take the chance. Good luck to those that had the balls to buy it.

Thanks !! Appreciate the good wishes…
You never know what you’ll end up with a untested re-seller.
I paid with PayPal , so I’m at least partially safe.

Before I forget ……
Mine arrived in New York this am.
If all goes well , should be in hand Monday / Tuesday . (sooner I hope)

I am thinking in buy some chargers, I will send the quota…

This is the same company as BESTINONE..

google it .. or do a BLF search ..:P

same seller

Thanks

The ad states that the light uses 2x18650/26650 batteries yet the picture and the advertised length of 177mm suggests only 1 battery. Am I missing something? I am willing to take a chance on a light like this but I am a little confused.

Not sure why you say that as 68*2=134 so that leaves 43 mm for the head.
