Corn ...Ok now I'm hungry

What we have been doing lately is soaking husk and all in water, then wrapping in aluminum foil. Put them on the grill, high away from the heat before you start grilling the meat. They come out great. cooking them in the husk, seals in the flavor. Husking them and boiling is not as flavorful.

I prefer this method .

That is awesome, I love corn hate cooking it. No more 5 gallon pot of steamy water in the kitchen. I like to freeze a couple dozen small bags so I have fresh corn all year, I’m just saying.

I should mention that Ken has an old low-powered microwave and his suggested cooking times may be too long for a high powered microwave .

There is a recipe from across the border where you put mayonnaise, lime, Parmesan or better yet queso panela, and sprinkle Tabasco sauce or some hot powder pepper and they taste yummy!

I think I am going to try your microwave method.

I nuke mine for 3 min for one or 4 min for 2.

Btw, thats a cool way of removing the stuff but i like to keep them on so i have something to hold it with. Like the way they serve them at fairs and carnivals.

May want to butter them quickly, they tend lose their heat faster than boiled or roasted corn.

+1 on micro wave corn…we’ve been eatin it for last 6 weeks that way. Don’t think I’ll ever boil water again.

I roast them in a pan with some butter.. thats great.

Had a corn on my toe once

Guess what I'm buying tomorrow.

so how many lumens did the corn put out >?

I do not like corn, I don’t even like how it smells |( only pop corn, and a type of bread made with corn made locally which is tastier than wheat one.

In a pub here, they add a bit of pepper, sure it is just to make us feel thirsty but it tastes nice, and is healthier than adding tons of salt.

that’s awesome, thanks for posting that!

and I’m sure if I put 2 ears of corn in my microwave for 8 minutes they would explode lol

I wonder how many Lumens it takes to pop corn ??

Shake it off

I cook corns on barbecue with some butter and salt, or at worst in the cast iron with coarse salt on bottom
never boiled/microwaved it, will try ty
damn now I’m hungry xD want an ice cream at the popcorn+salt+butter taste xD

Just tried the microwave on this HOT day (97F). Works great!

I like that removal method. Have to give it a try.

I just tried this and it works pretty well. 4 min is about right in my case (~1kW), but it would vary depending on size of corn in addition to power. Too little time and the kernels are slightly hard (some prefer this); too much and the some of the kernels start to leak/get mushy. Overall very convenient, though, to take advantage of quality super-inexpensive US subsidized corn.
