I like flashlights because I’m amazed by the technology since LEDs are invented. And I can show them off to my non flashaholic friends and they would go “Wow”.

I recently got into lights thanks to getting into night riding on my new mountain bike. First it was a cheap and nasty 4 led plastic flashly light, now I have an ametuer collection of 7 high powered xml flashlights after 1 month of discovering this forum!
Of course it isn’t entirely practical, driving around at night in Vietnam isn’t safe. Other than that I just love these things, they feel and look so cool!
The mystery light, Shadow JM05, something about wolf being written on the tail cap seems to spring to mind…
I like flashlight, just because that's the way it is. It's just in me. Has been ever since I was a kid (cheap incans), college (mags), first jobs (halogens), unemployment period (cheap $0.60 LED lights), and now a bit steady in the older days (XM-Ls & Li-ions... alright!). Life is good.
I like flashlights because I love making night into day, love it since I was a kid and eventually loved it more when I took mountain hiking as a pastime. I already done two solo night trek just to use/test my lights. :bigsmile:

I like camping biking fishing on night so are a must… when I discovered china budget I realized that was also a cheap gift so started make comparisons and collecting some, ending appreciating technology, design, moddings ….I like to play with them xD

I thought that I like flashlights because I like photography and wanted to do some light painting. Now I don't have any time for creative photography, but I still like flashlights, even more than before! Maybe it is something else.. :)

Light is knowledge. Pretty tough to learn in the dark. Who doesn’t like having available light? Well, that’s why I do, anyway.

I think I like flashlights because it seems you can always squeeze more lumens from that tube with batteries. It’s a simple technology that the average consumer can tinker with and there are so many options. But I think the coolest aspect is comparing even the average XM-L light to the crap you get from a hardware store and that most of us grew up with. It’s not a common device one would generally care to shop around for so it’s cool to see the looks on people’s faces when you see how bright your flashlight is 8)
